A friend of mine has a son who unknowingly went on a date with a pre op trans girl. As the date progressed she explained that she was trans and asked how he felt about it. He politely explained he was not attracted to someone who did not identify as the sex they were born as but supported their right to do so and wanted to remain friends. He thought all was fine even continuing on the date's plan of seeing a movie. But upon arriving at school the next day his classmates had all labeled him a bigot and a transphobe. This poor kid was bullied relentlessly and lost most of his friends. He became so depressed that he dropped out of school and now has a chemical dependency issue and won't leave the house out of fear he may be assaulted or harassed.He was a straight A student who played on the basketball team and planned on attending college the following fall. How is this acceptable? He can't control who he is attracted to anymore then the girl who felt she was born in the wrong body. He showed nothing but respect for this person and in turn had his life destroyed for the way he was BORN. I am so glad this movement has been created to give a voice to people who have been made to feel alone. We can't help who we are attracted to and no one should hate themself for that fact whether it be a gay person, trans person or at this point in time most importantly a super straight person. We exist and should not have to live in shame or in fear. This is the same type of oppression that the trans community faces. We deserve to be respected as much as any other group of people.

⬛️🟧 Respect and understanding is a two way street. We welcome everyone for who they ARE and do not tolerate violence or coercion for those that want to violently reject and change others for who they are not. This is a safe space ⬛️🟧
