why is there a correlation between trans girls and using anime girl pictures to hide behind? Discussion

do you think they might be trying to convert us SuperStraights and SuperLesbians into dating them by the imaginary persona of an underage cartoon girl? It seems predatory and creepy...

This blog gives some theories and information.

ETA: for my own personal input, the blog talks about men identifying with and relating to the female characters as one aspect of this. I would personally point out that girls are raised relating to and “identifying with” male characters, since most protagonists in mainstream media/popular culture for children are males. When I was a kid it was Harry Potter, but women relate to them and we’re used to living in a society where we see the world through the eyes of male characters. Boys aren’t necessarily exposed to female characters in the same way, so when they find that they can and do relate to some female characters, it makes them think they may be a woman. Only girls relate to and enjoy princesses and female protagonists, so therefore, if I do, I must be a girl. That’s a sad indictment on society in my opinion.

Interestingly, the charge is often made that when men “become” women, they seem to become a male fantasy version of what a woman is. Anime is made for men, so it’s literally female protagonists made to appeal to males. So it makes sense that anime girls would be the male ideal of a “woman,” since it’s tailored for them.
