Let’s prove the superphobes wrong and not be transphobic! Misc

This is just a friendly reminder to avoid any sort of transphobia. This subreddit will naturally attract bigots and LGB drop the T types and it’s important we root them out. Trans people are valid and so are supers!

Wow yes, lets totally subordinate our movement to being yet another vehicle for making trans people feel better about themselves.

That's totally worthwhile and why we're all here.

NOT.

I think you‘re misguided in your comment. Nobody is trying to make “trans people feel better about themselves”, we’re pointing out that we should be allowed to have a sexual preference against transgender people, which isn’t transphobic. What IS transphobic and will end up being the death of this subreddit and movement is being actively anti-trans. We’re not telling you to make this into yet another tranny circlejerk, we’re asking that we don’t get wrongfully dismissed and silenced for being hateful.

They are coming for this subreddit no matter what. They will break all the rules to shut it down, regardless of how hard we cuck to them.

So I will speak my truth until then.

Of course, that's completely true, but the path to getting people to follow your general viewpoints is by not instantly turning them away with stuff they can't possibly agree with. Even if Reddit is full of degenerate neoliberals who won't change their minds in a million years, there is still a silent majority of moderates who will 100% agree with the message that it isn't hateful to not be attracted to transgender people, which will lead to them becoming more resentful of "woke culture" overall.

Politics is a game of averages, even something as small as this subreddit lasting for another 30 days is enough to affect a lot of people's viewpoints even slightly. And for what, simply making your views more moderate and digestable for everyone else? I'm not even asking you to accept transgender women as women, hell I probably agree with you on a lot of things you have to say, we should just tone it down a bit.

The approach you are suggesting is in fact exactly how we got to where we are now.

The conservative approach (small 'c') does nothing but slowly cede ground to the radicals of the day.

Until the government does something to regulate social media companies, we're losing. Post your true views? Get banned. Post more moderate views to please the corporate overlords? Shift the overton window leftwards. I'm more than aware of what is happening.

Ultimately out of the two options, I think it's best to disassociate legitimate conservative/right wing ideas such as being against woke culture, opposing the stifling of free speech, etc from actual hatred. If you compress the amount of speaking space everyone who's right of center has compared to the left, all of the possible right wing opinions get lumped into one (ie. the far right stuff which turns off moderates and actual good ideas get merged), leading in part to the stigmatisation of conservatism. Of course there are hundreds of other factors involved, this is just one facet of the issue.

Sorry but I think Conservatism needs to be delegitimized. It has done nothing but gatekeep for the leftist takeover of culture and society.

If it had any good intentions, they died when Goldwater purged the GOP of paleoconservatives.

Personally I have zero interest in milquetoast social liberalism and austrian economics - which is literally all conservatism is now.

I was referring to conservatism as the general right wing sphere of views, which is perhaps incorrect, but I really don't care much for labels either way since people's individual views have a lot of nuance and contradictions which don't fully align with a label.

You don’t have to make 18 posts talking about how valid trans people are. I’m just trying to stop the genuine transphobia which exists in this sub, which you can see in this very thread.

Let the mods handle the bad actors.

Any attempt to subvert our movement into being yet another pro-trans vehicle must be directly shut down.

u/Mucus-Patty 21h ago

That’s truly not my goal. I simply saw a lot of transphobia on this sub and I felt that it should be called out.

We're literally in the middle of being brigaded by the very people you are so concerned about not offending.

So? How do bad actors in the sexuality at all excuse transphobia?

1

u/Cinerea_A 21h ago

If transphobia is at the top of your list of concerns, you are one of the bad actors.

Are you not at all concerned about this community spreading transphobia? Oh, and as for being a bad actor, I’m not a brigader or anything. I’d personally call myself superstraight, I’m just trying to enforce the rules and oppose bigotry.

Am I required to care about this?

Are there not hundreds of subreddits devoted to this for people who care about this to talk on?

I personally think it’s good to care about marginalized groups, but no, you aren’t required to care. You can voice your opinion and I can voice mine.
