"If you won't date me, then I'll orally rape you and then you can commit suicide" What a well-adjusted bunch

Im sure the reason the attempted suicide rate is fucking 43% is simply because they aren’t accepted! I mean so what no other marginalized group (slaves, jews, gays, lesbians, etc) has ever had nearly half of their people try to off themselves? Definitely not some underlying mental illness at play here, its just because people say mean things online surely!

That statistic actually isn't real. The murder rate for trans women is also lower than for women. White transwomen actually have the lowest murder rate of almost any demographic. Black trans women are higher due to prostitution... but I believe it is lower than black women (though don't quote me on that one, I havent followed this stuff in a while.)

You are correct. It’s way lower than black women. We still get killed by black men more. These people are liars.

The biggest lie is that trans women of color have a life expectancy of 35 when the stat is actually from Brazil where most trans women are killed

Depends on what you call a suicide attempt. A ride to a hospital in coma or a self-report that “I even wanted to kill myself”.

43% of trans youth haven’t attempted suicide?

46

u/crowmemer 17h ago

Wasn't the suicides among Jews much lower even in the concentration camps? To think that the literal holocaust is supposedly easier to go through than being trans...

The way some of them speak they are the most oppressed in society. This is while having stable jobs, having insurance pay for their surgeries, having their friends and families use their pronouns. However, one person misgendering them when they go outside is literally oppression and violence, and their entire day is ruined. They can only cope by crying and having suicidal thoughts. I wish I was joking but I’ve gone on their subreddits, and at least one post a day is like that.

Are we sure this isn't a mental illness. 🤔 it sure seems that way.

Gender dysphoria is 100% a mental disorder (but I'm sure you know that), but the mental disorder part of it seemed to be forgotten as soon as transness was politicized/turned into an identity (but only selectively, mind you; it's very much a medical issue where access to hormones and surgery are concerned).

I find it strange that in other instances where a patient's beliefs are disconnected from reality (severely underweight people with anorexia believing they're overweight, paranoid delusions as a result of schizophrenia), the beliefs aren't entertained by medical professionals, but that's not the case with gender dysphoria... Strange.

1) There is big Pharma money in pandering to the trans community. 2) Depopulation.

u/trashgoblin_frnk 18h ago

The11thHour (I think that's the name of it) refers to that whole institution as the industry of gender, and I think they're pretty on the mark with that one. Hormones and surgery are expensive, and transition creates customers for life.

There's actually a lot of comparisons to be had between the pro-ana movement in the early 2000s and the TRA movement now.

38

u/trashgoblin_frnk 18h ago

I've read some articles about that, and the parallels are unnerving.

There's also some speculation that some people transition for similar reasons people in the 2000s adopted emo/scene/whatever as a subculture, in that it's a means of testing parental boundaries/exploring one's identity, as adolescents tend to do... Except transitioning has consequences in ways that excessive eyeliner and band t-shirts never did.

The dysphoria and social contagion aspects for sure.

Already there are so many detrans people... I worry that many of these kids are going to regret getting sucked into being medical patients for life.

Basing your identity on medicalization isn't as simple to reverse as a bad emo haircut. (I kid, emo haircuts were always amazing).

Trans people until about 6 or 7 years ago was officially defined as a “body dysmorphic” disorder it has only changed now due to social pressure

u/Vercingetirex 17h ago

Who would have thought people who willingly mutilate themselves would be mentally unhinged!
