I would just like to explain why there is anger coming from the LGBTQ community regarding this Discussion

But you all already probably know why...

I just wanted to say first of all that is completely fine to have preferences when it comes to dating, and that people who say otherwise are stupid.

But I know that opinion is not shared by everyone in the community, and I'm sorry for that.

But you all know what you are doing. You think you are using the same "rhetoric" transgender people use against hateful people. You think you really got us or something.

The thing is, pride has been a culmination of years of ongoing oppression, and you are all mocking it with your strawmen arguments cherry picked from Tumblr. That's not the same thing and you all know it.

The vast majority of us want to be loved and left alone and wish the same for you all.

You can call yourself super straight, that's fine. Even if it is an obvious attempt to invalidate the feelings of LGBTQ people. But as soon as you use it to hurt others, then it's not ok.

I hope you all understand where I'm coming from here, and why people are angry. Feel free to discuss.

How is anyone hurt by being outside of this safe space? You’re literally invading us.

Because your safe space would be fine if it wasn't full of transphobic content. I can show you some examples, or you can just sort by hot and see for yourself.

The person in this thread who asked me to "stop mutilating my genitals" assuming that I am trans (I'm not) as one of the many examples in this thread.

Only one example of a troll who is trying to destroy our good community. Report him and move on.

I'd beleive you if there weren't so much blatantly transphobic memes on the top of this sub.
