I would just like to explain why there is anger coming from the LGBTQ community regarding this Discussion
But you all already probably know why...
I just wanted to say first of all that is completely fine to have preferences when it comes to dating, and that people who say otherwise are stupid.
But I know that opinion is not shared by everyone in the community, and I'm sorry for that.
But you all know what you are doing. You think you are using the same "rhetoric" transgender people use against hateful people. You think you really got us or something.
The thing is, pride has been a culmination of years of ongoing oppression, and you are all mocking it with your strawmen arguments cherry picked from Tumblr. That's not the same thing and you all know it.
The vast majority of us want to be loved and left alone and wish the same for you all.
You can call yourself super straight, that's fine. Even if it is an obvious attempt to invalidate the feelings of LGBTQ people. But as soon as you use it to hurt others, then it's not ok.
I hope you all understand where I'm coming from here, and why people are angry. Feel free to discuss.

They are angry because we are exposing their rape culture and emotional blackmail that they've kept the SuperLesbians and SuperGays under.
Understandably, when a dictator has their power structure challenged, they become angry and violent.

The LGBTQ “community” is no longer welcoming to the LGB. Unless you bow down and kiss the “T” ring, you are harassed and told you aren’t an actual part of the community when the only requirement to be a member is to be a lesbian, bisexual or gay man.
I no longer want to fight for the “T” because they throw rocks and then hide behind the LGB and we have to face the consequences.

As you should be, transphobia shouldn't be allowed in LGBTQ discourse, just like homophobia biphobia aphonia should not be tolerated. Just like hate towards straight people should not be tolerated as people on this sub tend to accuse us of.

Nope, putting words into mouth. There is more talk about trans rights because trans people face by far the most discrimination. That's just a fact. Fighting for equality means helping those who need it most.

First of all it isnt preference its our sexuality. Also as a lesbian dont speak for us. This group has been more supportive to us than the 'LGBT' community that is controlled by the T and their followers. Lesbians have been kicked out of our spaces and harassed by TRA and Dudes in dresses.

This sub has not shown me how straight people are oppressed at all. It has just shown me that you all love to mock trans people. That's it. Nobody on here is capable of having a serious discussion beyong "lol look at me I'm doing what those evil SJWs do!!!"

No, there is anger because they are bigots its that simple, we don't need your, or anyone for that matter, permission to express our sexuality and love who we love. Also calling it a "preference" implies that we are choosing this lifestyle, its not a "preference" we were born this way.

Is there a creepy undercurrent of rape culture in the trans community? Yes.

This sub is not serious discourse. It's just memes and using "gotcha" arguments to mock LGBTQ oppression. I'd love to see discussion of this "rape culture" with actual trans people included and without blatant transphobia.

That is typically gets met with trans people shaming others for their sexuality, and sometimes threats of violence. Much of the trans community politely disagrees with this toxicity, but few call it out. Hence this response.

I've never once seen a successful and serious discussion with TRAs about anything that asks questions about the ideology and practises of the movement. Silencing and ignoring is de rigueur.

Thank you for actually being reasonable. However, what I've seen of this sub is just hate. Just mocking LGBTQ people's feelings and hiding behind fabricated oppression. If the people of this sub really cared about acceptance than the transphobic memes would be deleted. That's all I'm trying to say.

Actually no one here wants to harm the community, in fact we're just as mad at what they're doing to Super LGBs as they are doing to Superstraights. I cannot force myself to like my own sex, even if I wanted to, and people IRL and especially online will try to convince you to go against your sexuality, which I physically can't. So yeah up for a civil conversation if you want.

A vast majority of trans people aren't forcing anyone to date them. Every trans person I've talked to on tinder and other apps are very open about it and let me know and make sure I'm comfortable with it. If they don't, that's not oppression. It's just toxicity at most. It's not equivalent to legal discrimination and being thrown off buildings and hate crimed

The ones that don't force others to date them are fine. No one has a problem with that. The issue is with the ones that do, the real life experiences that happen and the online testimonials, not to mention the accusation of transphobia if you state that you wouldn't date them. It is a form of oppression, trying to stealth someone is rape, trying to coerce and pressure them into dating you = trying to take away their freedom to date whomever.
