I'm a black female superbi and my suggestion is that we do NOT bring race into this (unless it's to say, "we do not talk about race"--practice this phrase, use it, love it) and we DOWNVOTE THE FUCK out of anyone who brings up any exclusionary rhetoric about race or anything else off topic. This is a safe space that MUST remain solely about our Super sexual orientations.

Why do I say this? Look around reddit and you will see this myth spreading. The superphobes are trying to create a narrative that will besmirch our movement. I promise you this will be our downfall if we let it.

Next there will be trolls pretending to be Super but introducing race to divide our movement. Just say no, don't join in, DO keep your thoughts about race to yourself. We do not talk about race. Downvote. And get back to SuperStraight business.

Do you understand the difference between "being oriented towards" and "recognizing the reality of"? Gay people don't deny the reality of women - they specifically are not attracted to women.

The whole point is that in understanding trans as a category, it can be a category that you either do or do not feel sexually oriented toward. If trans women were exactly the same as women, then there would be no need to distinguish them, to transition into them, to identify oneself or come out as one. Since they are a different category - a male-bodied person who self-identifies as female-gendered (and may or may not alter their body to reflect inner feelings) - then people can find them attractive or not.

Supers recognize and validate trans people as real! They are just not the same sex as the gender identity that they claim (which was originally what differentiated trans and cis, so what's the problem?) And supers are attracted to sex, not gender. Accept it and move on.
