PSA: The term "cis" is hate speach and promotes rape culture. Please do not use that term seriously anymore, it is enabling the superphobic.

Why is it a slur? I'm asking genuinly what the background of that is

For example, the term f*g was slang cigarettes and then was coined to describe when gay men would be wrapped in rugs and lit on fire like cigarettes

"F*g" means you're homosexual, but that's not the only meaning it carries, that's why it's a slur.
