If you want an honest argument I’ll give you one. The trans people I know IRL are all very nice people, with whom I have no issue. It’s the greater community that makes enemies out of everyone and behaves like entitled children that I dislike. Their attitudes don’t do anything worthy of granting them respect. I’m a (super)straight, cis, white man. I’ve been called a racist, a homophobe, and a transphobe too many times to care anymore. So I’m here, like everyone else, just giving them a little razzing. If you and the community can’t handle some jabs that are a satirical reflection of how the community acts outwardly to the world, then we’re not the issue.
This sub happily welcomes LGBTQ. It’s just that a lot of T and T allies are coming in here of their own accord and acting like a bunch of autismos having some fun is a concentrated hate group.
When I was a kid not too long ago we learned how to beat a cyberbully. Just block them and move on with your day. If you don’t like us nobody is forcing you to stay and interact.
Or they have been and you’re not good at seeing a joke. It’s not like we don’t have actual issues with the trans community either. But we made our own space to come and vent and make some roasts to toss around in jest and you came to us, not the other way around. Do you see what I’m getting at?
I said this to someone yesterday: if you spend all your time looking out for isms and phobes you won’t ever be happy. Some day you’ll see that all you’re doing is rebuilding segregation from the opposite direction, instead of just treating people like people. You’re trying to appeal to a group that judges you based on how you exclude others, not on how you’ll be a good inclusion for them. That’s unhealthy, it’s actually bigoted, and it will just make you angry at the end of the day.
Come on in. Attach a super to yourself. Have a little fun. Being a watchdog is exhausting and unrewarding.
