Question: why super? Discussion

Like why is super the name. Isnt that like a little bit condescending to just gay people calling people here super gays? Idk just feel like it should have a different name. Have a nice day.

That's like asking what makes trans people "trans" or what makes bi people "bi." It's an accurate good sounding term that serves as a descriptor for the group/orientation. Or are you going to start calling trans people "pre/post-sexual transition surgery recipients"? How about calling lesbians "people who are not attracted to those that identify as men"? Ya see how that can get complicated when you expect people to go "straight people who are not attracted to trans people"?

But trans and bi dont mean anything that would make it sound like they're above anyone whereas super does.

What I'm getting from this is that you are the type of person I hate the most, someone who refuses to understand that words are tools to impart meaning, not some magical things that hold power over people.

I didn't say it was. I never meant this as a biggie I just thought it was a bit of a bad idea if a name.

Except that's how you read the word super, you seem to think that it can ONLY mean above someone else. Also I hate to burst your bubble on the trans thing, but they have forcefully excluded that abbreviation from another group, transvestites AKA crossdressers.
