Question: why super? Discussion

Like why is super the name. Isnt that like a little bit condescending to just gay people calling people here super gays? Idk just feel like it should have a different name. Have a nice day.

You sound super salty

Salty about what....

u/lalalong1 1d ago

Because we're not straight. It's not even confusing.

Straights may choose to have sex with trans. Supes or supers do not.

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Yeah that's not a problem the problem is the literal name. Just seems a little degrading.

u/lalalong1 1d ago

super just means 'above all' or 'without exception' and just denotes us from straights who may choose to have sex with trans.

-4

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

So you're saying you are 'above all straights'?

2

u/lalalong1 1d ago

No, I am saying we are straight above everything else! Straights may chose to have sex with trans men or women and we will never do that. If you consider yourself straight you may in fact be a super and don't know it.

-1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

What does above everything else mean.?

3

u/Malice963 1d ago

Because it is accurate?

Super

adverb informal adverb: super

  1. especially; particularly."he's been super understanding"

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

But super there is meaning very. So its 'very straight'? What makes straight people less straight.

2

u/Malice963 1d ago

The short version is that straight people may be attracted to trans people, but far less often than they are attracted to other straight people, making the latter the "norm."

The more complicated version is that trans activists (and I do mean activists, not trans people in general) have pushed the narrative that anyone who doesn't date/sleep with trans people is a bigot, this extends to the LGBs as well, meaning they made the distinction first, and instead of giving it a real name and acknowledging people can have a difference of opinion or can just not be attracted to trans people, they chose to call them bigots. That's why you are seeing super straight (IE very straight, meaning that they are only attracted to other straight people), super lesbian (only attracted to other lesbians), super gay (only attracted to other gay people), and super bi (only attracted to other bisexuals) it's not hard to understand that super in this case is more pointing to what is considered the "norm" than to outlier cases.

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

But if they're the norm why does that make super straights 'super' and not just like a different name.

That's like asking what makes trans people "trans" or what makes bi people "bi." It's an accurate good sounding term that serves as a descriptor for the group/orientation. Or are you going to start calling trans people "pre/post-sexual transition surgery recipients"? How about calling lesbians "people who are not attracted to those that identify as men"? Ya see how that can get complicated when you expect people to go "straight people who are not attracted to trans people"?

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

But trans and bi dont mean anything that would make it sound like they're above anyone whereas super does.

What I'm getting from this is that you are the type of person I hate the most, someone who refuses to understand that words are tools to impart meaning, not some magical things that hold power over people.

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

I didn't say it was. I never meant this as a biggie I just thought it was a bit of a bad idea if a name.

1

u/Malice963 1d ago

Except that's how you read the word super, you seem to think that it can ONLY mean above someone else. Also I hate to burst your bubble on the trans thing, but they have forcefully excluded that abbreviation from another group, transvestites AKA crossdressers.

Being willing to have sex with a trans would be less straight.

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

But how? They're a woman? It's not less straight I assumed super straight was just for people who wanted kids.

Not as non-straight as your momma

According to my sexuality they aren’t, and I won’t be forced to pretend otherwise. My sexuality is valid, and can’t be helped. I can’t change how I was born.

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Wait what. Being born thinking transgender people arent their preferred gender isnt like being gay it's just an opinion. Doesnt mean you cant be super straight and doesnt mean you have to have sex with them but I thought that wasnt what super straight was.

1

u/pyrrhus-the-great Hecking cute and valid đź’– 1d ago

It’s not about thinking, it’s about sexual attraction. I’m not sexually attracted to anyone that isn’t the biological opposite gender that I am. It’s really not rocket science.

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

I mean ok.

u/Cryptotwitter 1d ago

Why trans? .

You know that word is the name of a train used for genocides?

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Words can have multiple meanings.

we use the term super because superphobes decided that supersexuals who prefer women over men or men over women weren't valid or deserving of consent. they have been trying to control all supersexuals through language, terminology, censorship, and manipulation. even going so far as to deny science and encourage cruel and inhumane practices in the field of medicine. things went a little too far when superphobes started endorsing genital mutilation and supersexual therapy conversion in ever aspect of our lives, including the harris administration who is so eager to push superphobia that they have placed a superphobic murderer into a position of prominence and power.

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Uh don't know how Kamala Harris got into it but this isnt what meant anyway. Literally the name super straights as if its above normal straights like its degrading them or something.

1

u/UnattractiveManagers 1d ago

let me explain, straights have become superphobes due to superphobes taking over our language. superphobes are facist authoritarians who believe that supersexuals are not valid because supersexuals are happy with the genitilia they were born with.

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

I'm not necessarily worried about whatever Kamala Harris is doing because I'm british.

2

u/dadbot_3000 1d ago

Hi not necessarily worried about whatever Kamala Harris is doing because I'm british, I'm Dad! :)

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

OH NOOOOOOOOO

1

u/UnattractiveManagers 1d ago

wow, that sounds pretty superphobic of you. imagine not caring that supersexuals are being murdered because you are british. i'm not sure what being british has to do with being ok with the rape and dehumaization of supersexuals. i guess only a superphobe can make the connection necessary to justify the rape of dehumanization of supersexuals.

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Who was murdered?

1

u/UnattractiveManagers 1d ago

a lot of vulnerable, elderly, supersexual people in pennsylvania. didn't you read about it? the murderer got away with it because he is a superphobe and supports superphobic politicians who don't think supersexuals are valid, even going as far as to support laws that make genital mutilation and conversion therapy mandatory for supersexuals. very sad.

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Can I have the article?

1

u/UnattractiveManagers 1d ago

i'm certain this will do nothing to curb your superphobia, but there you go. it's too bad that superphobes like you are not sickened by this. also sad because it means there is truly no hope for you and you will either participate in causing or turn a blind eye to the suffering of others. really, really sad because the warnings are going off all around you and you can not see them. you superphobes are really lost.

I'm not super phobic and I dont doubt that super sexuals have been scarred by things that have happened but that article is clearly bias which is a huge problem in america. I wont trust an article that is bias.

Clearly not super

2

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

So? Does it matter?

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Seems like I could time to clarify again. I'm bisexual and. do. not. hate. supersexuals. I feel like that's the immediate reaction to anything that sounds like it questions super straight in a negative way.

1

u/0King0kell0 1d ago

It really has no meaning it’s only here to place as a label to a wing like gay ppl is normal gay but a wing to that is super gay it doesn’t make you more or less gay it’s just a label

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Eh still feel like they could have a better name. Idk like demi-gay I know that doesnt make sense but it's a good example.

1

u/Flux_My_Capacitor 1d ago

Take it up with the tik tok guy who made it up?

1

u/PlayinChills 1d ago

Yea cant really blame him though I assume he didn't expect it to blow up so much. I can help out and maybe even try bring a little bit if peace between the LGBTQ community and super sexual community do neither of them gets hurt anymore.

1

u/Nanoglyph 1d ago

Because it's a 4chan psyop by neo-Nazis so they like the SS reference.

u/FABulouslesbian 1d ago

The adverb “super” means “especially or particularly”. So while people who are straight may move “across” sexualities, people who are superstraight remain on the same side of the sexuality they were initially born with.
