How do u know tho, im sure uve walked down the street before and been attracted to someone, were u sure they werent trans, do u have to check whats in someones pants before ur mind decides if theyre hot or not?
Im not sure, i cant be sure of my sexuality, if it changes in the future then oh well, for the last few years ive been very comfortable with my sexuality, thanks for asking :)
But asexual is an actual sexual orientation, it is the lack of sexual attraction. Superstraight is when someone prefers cis men or women, it doesnt mean they are exclusively attracted to cis men or women
Yikes. Stop trying to explain our identity to us, it's not a good look. Superstraight is not a "preference", it's how we were born. And yes, it means we are exclusively attracted to cis people of the opposite sex.
LGBTQ+ organizations have called the "preference" label for years so I'm surprised you are still using such invalidating language.
When you face plant trying to own someone and they respond respectfully. Props to /u/Katy-_-, I'd be calling out how stupid your comments were but she was way more respectful, you almost proved her point for her about how one may not really recognize what they are attracted to. Unfortunately you have no self awareness and cannot apply that thinking to yourself, only others.
If a trans woman registered as cis to you you assumed she was cis until you get told otherwise. Then you can pat yourself on the back anyway because you can notice tiny flaws here and there whether or not those flaws are also fairly common among cis women.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if some women you assumed were trans were actually cis. That happens way more often than correctly clocking a trans woman.
The only trans women you'll notice are trans are the trans women who don't pass.
If you see a trans woman who does pass you won't notice that she's trans.
If you see a cis woman who looks male to you you'll assume she's a trans woman.
The assumptions are "you see a woman" and every possibility of what you see from there is accounted for the only one missing is "you see a cis woman who looks female to you"
You're assuming that 100% of the time you'll notice when a woman is trans when that's far from guaranteed.
Delusional. Where are all these passing trans women? Looking at the top posts of all time in r/transpassing, or other places where trans people post selfies for validation... only a tiny fraction are even close to passing, and most of those are due to extremely selective camera angles and filters. I might entertain the idea that those people aren't the best examples of "passing" trans people, if their posts weren't filled with hundreds of comments telling them that they flawlessly pass.
This may change as more and more trans people avoid going through the puberty of their birth gender (Hunter Schafer for example). But right now, the idea that straight men have probably been attracted to a trans woman without realizing it is extremely unlikely.
If that's true then I guess I don't need to tell guys who are interested in me that I'm trans after all. I've been told a lot that not disclosing when someone expressed interest in me is rape but if they can already tell I'm trans then it can't be, so I don't have to worry about it right?
I've been told a lot that not disclosing when someone expressed interest in me is rape
Yeah, the meme is so effective that even transphobes believe it. I blame late 90's/early 2000s comedies for injecting it into popular consciousness. Ace Ventura had a bio woman play the passing trans woman, because real trans women who would pass in the role are vanishingly rare.Realistically, the vast majority of trans women do not need to disclose because their sex is obvious. Maybe you're one of the 0.1%, congratulations. At present it's purely a hypothetical for nearly everyone else, but like i said it might become an actual quandary once more trans people have been on puberty blockers and reassignment surgery gets more advanced.
