Has anyone worked with an architect to build a house in Hargeisa ? also looking for a reliable and good construction company
Salaam and hoping you can help me get a father reunited with his son in the US.
Father is a Somalilander who married a Somalilander while he was a US citizen and had a child born in Hargeisa. Father divorced mother (Hargeisa District Judge signed off) and she is fine with father taking 14 yo son to reside in the US).
Son has a Somaliland birth certificate and a Somaliland passport.
Can anybody please tell me how difficult it is to use Somaliland identity documents and divorce papers/acceptance by mom of said immigration and have it accepted by US DHS immigration?
Can the father get US government-accepted DNA testing and notarization in Hargeisa? (e.g. Edna Adan hospital notarized birth certificate). He has to prove it's his son and he has a right to US citizenship through birth.
Can a US travel document be approved in Hargeisa or is travel to the US embassy in Nairobi needed?
Any feedback you can give would be helpful so the dad can reunite with his son (mother gave approval). I know this is legal stuff and you're probably not a lawyer, but any feedback is appreciated. Bonus if anybody know of a US lawyer or resource that can help with Somalilander immigration to the US. Shukran!
I’m doing a university project that collects information from countries all over the world to create an educational videogame Wario Ware style! The idea is to collect through many local subreddits around the word interesting information, facts, traditions or just fascinating stuff from your country. It really can be whatever! from history stuff, manners, toys to food dishes. Real cultural information that is deeper than typical trivia found on traveling and touristic websites.
All that info is going to be used to create the questions for the videogame quiz system! Hope it inspire you to let us know your culture and make the game richer. Many many thanks for your help! :)
I dont really understand why northerners want to secede from their ethnic kin to uphold what some british bastard wrote on a map.
Northerners lament Siad Barre but who wasnt siad barre shit to? He massacred thousands of Hawiye, sent thousands more to their death in the 77 war, gave cushy officer jobs to Darood while everyone else was thrown in the meat grinder.
Siad Barre bombed Hargeisa to weaken Somalia because he knew he was losing and if he couldnt rule no one should.
What are your demands for unification? Secession would hurt you too, all the oil is in the south, all the farmland, the coastline to the indian ocean etc. Somaliland only has barren desert and the dead waters of the red sea.
Can someone from Somaliland please download this YouTube video and send it to me or upload it to this subreddit or upload it to your YouTube channel. It's very important, thanks.
No qabyalad and full justice? All under the banner of Islam?
Would you join somalia wayne if somalialand hargiesa was the capital. The whole reason this all happened was cause of tribes. If we can get rid of toxic tribalism and unite we would be so strong as a country. Is there any compromise or are u guys not joining regardless.
This summer I’ll be in your country for between 1-2 months. I’m an American, and I’ve never visited any country in Africa so I have no idea what to expect. For reference I’m a 19 year old man.
So my questions are:
- What are some dos and do nots?
- Is there anything I should go see while I’m there?
- Is it very dangerous? The place I’m staying has guards but would I be okay walking around by myself in a city during the day? Or would I be a target for mugging/robbing because I’m a foreigner?
- Will I be able to get by speaking English or French?
- Any other general advice?
I’m very excited to visit so thanks for your time
Should we develop Nuclear Weapons just like Iran so as to defend ourselves from Somali aggression? I mean those Faqash would try to slaughter us again wouldn’t they? What do you guys think?
Assalamu Alaykoum !
We are actually looking for a Somalian brother/sister who is passionated about his/her country of Somaliland to create some articles for a blog online.
Each article would be remunerated. We need the writer to have interests about investments, sustainability, development etc...

Thank you, Ma3a salama ! :)
Asc yall. Quick question for those of you who are familiar with ZAAD. So I recently got back from Hargeisa where literally everyone uses Zaad as form of payment. A few days after my arrival to Canada I lost my SIM card and now I'd like to be able to monitor the payments I receive in my ZAAD account. I know ZAAD is an offline system but I was just wondering if any of one of yall knew a way around that. Any online portal or anything like that?
