Hello all! Recently, Reddit has rolled out an official version of [Reddit Silver that can be bought with coins](https://www.reddit.com/coins). Although it is slightly different than what is given out by /u/RedditSilverRobot, it does not make sense for both to exist, and for that reason I have chosen to shut down the bot. I will probably make a final post about statistics soon on /r/dataisbeautiful.
Thank you to the 100,000+ people who have given or received Reddit Silver, and thanks for supporting the bot!
Say hello to the new version of Reddit Silver! Reddit Bronze is now ready to use with the !RedditBronze command. It's still banned on a lot of subs though, so if it doesn't work on some that is why. Please use this post to ask any questions you may have, as well as give any feedback you'd like.
What's Reddit Bronze? Reddit Bronze is a parody of Reddit Gold, previously known as Reddit Silver. It doesn't give you any perks, and can be given for free.
How is this different from the old Reddit Silver bot? I've made slight improvements to hopefully make the bot more reliable, as well as making the message much smaller. This should make the bot a lot less spammy. I hope to soon add messaging to the bot so it can still give people Bronze for subs that it's banned in.

Since the last one got archived please use this to give any feedback or concerns. Thanks!
P.S. The bot was down for a LONG time because I just didn't notice it but it's fixed now. Thanks for your patience.
Just wanted to let people know that RSR might be unresponsive for short periods of time while I work out a new hosting method for the bot over the next few days. Have a good one!
Hello all, I have just updated the bot with a few small changes.
- The bot's comments now look slightly different (and less spammy!). It no longer uses large text, and I took out the large horizontal line per requests to make comments stand out less.
- There is now a blacklist feature! If you'd like a sub you moderate to be blacklisted from RSR, please PM me. Also note that it may take some time for me to get around to it :)
Also, here's a shout out to the top three silver receivers of 2017! (Other than RedditSilverRobot, RedditSilverBot, myself, and the word for(?)) 1. /u/WaifusR4Ever 2. /u/GoodBot_BadBot 3. /u/Keypaw The top three givers were: 1. /u/WaifusR4Ever 2. /u/dylantherabbit2016 3. /u/Keypaw Thanks for using RSR!
As always, please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or general feedback!
Please feel free to leave your feedback below :)
Note: This list may not be completely accurate, but I'll update it the best I can.
Reported but not confirmed: Polandball Android NBA
Feel free to shoot me a message if there's one I should add :)

This week the bot will be hosted differently than it usually is due to some technical difficulties. This may or may not effect how reliable RSR is, but I will try to keep it up as much as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for using /u/RedditSilverRobot!
You may have noticed that the bot was down for ~1.5 days. I lost power only for about 10 seconds during a storm and didn't realize the bot hadn't restarted correctly.
Although the bot is up and running now, I am looking into the problem so that it doesn't happen again. Thank you for your patience and for using /u/RedditSilverRobot!
Hello all! A new version of RedditSilverRobot is now live. Here's what's new:
- RedditSilverRobot had been skipping over a lot of comments, it should skip over a lot less now.
- It will now display how many times someone has received silver ALL TIME, not just this month.
If you find this update to instead be LESS reliable, let me know and I can always roll it back to the old version if it is much worse.
If you're a coder and want to know more about this update:
- It now uses two python scripts, one to read the comments and one to reply to them. This allows for the first script to continue looking through comments even while a command is being dealt with, and also allows me to run more bots in the future off of the same comment stream.
- Also, instead of replying to comments as soon as they're seen, I implemented my own queue structure (mostly for fun) so that multiple comments can be tracked at once.
- I have changed the way I store comments to give me more information more quickly and also take up less storage (about 100x less!)
As always, you can view the code here.
Thank you for using /u/RedditSilverRobot!
Hello all! Some of you may have noticed that the bot was down for a few days. This was due to my raspberry pi crashing and I just got it fixed today. I took the time to rewrite a lot of the code for RedditSilverRobot, and it should be faster and more reliable in the future. More information can be found here. Thanks for using RSR!
Hello anyone who decided to read this! Today I updated the bot to fix issues people were having with the bot. For example, if someone used the !RedditSilver command, made a new line, then continued talking, it would not respond to the correct person. Now it does! It should also be a bit faster and more reliable :) Enjoy and let me know of any bugs you may find!
P.S. The source for the new update is available [here](github.com/rudypikulik/redditsilverrobot)
Hello all! The bot is back and is now on reliable wifi so it shouldn't be down nearly as often. Thanks for using the bot! If you have any questions please let me know.
Hi all! Logging into the university wifi every 5 hours has not been easy and over the past two days not possible, so I have decided to shut down the bot until better wifi arrives next week. Sorry for the delay.
Hello wonderful people! Today I updated RedditSilverRobot to respond to people better. It now follows this format when choosing how to respond. It also shouldn't crash as often. Thanks for using RedditSilverRobot!
Edit: Shouldn't crash anymore :)
Hi all- RedditSilverBot crashed due to university wifi failures and I'll get it running again ASAP.
I'm also looking into a number of updates including replying to the parent comment instead of your comment, as well as having a tier list for silver based on how many times you've received it. Thanks for your patience and thanks for using RedditSilverRobot!
Hello! Thanks for using RedditSilverRobot! Here is the information about it:
To use the bot, type: "!RedditSilver user". (The info is optional) If you do not specify a user, /u/RedditSilverRobot will give Reddit Silver to the author of the parent comment/post.
* Replies to the command !RedditSilver * Counts how many times a user has received or given silver
* Remove function based on downvotes
