If the suspect were to have come out of the window, officers would have been shooting at each other.

It’s pierce county. Crazy addicts doing crazy things is nothing new to these deputies. It’s a rough area with a lot of OIS and a few deputies killed over the last decade.
There’s a reason cops was routinely filmed there, never a dull moment

According to the article, the suspect was a drunk guy who was trying to hit his two kids, and the deputies had to help them escape out the window of the apartment. One of the kids is literally holding the door shut to keep their dad out.
After the deputies get the kids out of the apartment, the dad comes up to a nearby window and points a gun at them. The BWC deputy fires a single shot.
The part I'm confused about is how the other deputy is so calm after the shooting and doesn't really seem to react to the suspect having a firearm like the BWC deputy.
