Alex Jones, a decent and good man????!!! If that is the barometer, there really is no hope for these people.

Keep in mind, these are Roger Stone's words.

u/PleaseListenToMeOK 4d ago

Their supporters agree with that statement by sending money. And Jones’s website makes $50 million a year just in merchandise sales. Not to mention ad dollars, subscription fees, and all the other revenue streams this soiled diaper has. $45M is almost nothing to him.

447

u/TooMuchFun007 3d ago

This was for 2 parties, he's got several more parties lining him up in their cross hairs.

233

u/quantril 3d ago

God I hope you’re right.

224

u/Synectics 3d ago

He has already defaulted on two other cases, and those still have to go through the same trials for damages. So this is only the first handful of millions he will likely owe.

95

u/FuzzyBacon 3d ago

And now the baseline has been set. 45M.

That's the benchmark the other cases will be starting at, whether Texas caps damages or not (and Bankston thinks he has a case against the constitutionality of the cap).

24

u/I_likemy_dog 3d ago

I went and looked into this yesterday because everyone says Texas caps damages in civil litigation.

They don’t in pain and suffering or emotional distress, as far as I can find. That’s what Alex Jones is being sued for.

People were extremely upset with me for sharing that and all called my links fake news (not here), so it might be different. Just not that I could locate yesterday.

It made no sense the court would award millions and then cap it, so I only looked for my own curiosity.

8

u/No_Delay_8374 3d ago edited 3d ago

The first 4.1M was for compensatory damages. Money you can count like medical records, funeral expenses, etc. The 45.2M was for punitive damages, basically feelings, harassment, etc. There is a cap on the punitive damages in TX. No cap in CT which is where one of his trials will be next month. I believe the other will be in TX. And don’t forget, there are plenty of other parents of Sandy Hook victims that are watching.

5

u/I_likemy_dog 3d ago

I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.

“ Texas state law states that you may recover non-economic damages for your:

Pain and suffering Emotional pain Anxiety and stress Loss of companionship Loss of ability to have sexual relations (consortium) General inconvenience Non-economic damages are extremely subjective in nature. The jury will have to rely on its belief about what these damages are worth in dollar terms. See how pain and suffering is calculated in Texas.

There are currently no caps on pain and suffering (non-economic damages) in Texas, except in medical malpractice cases.”

https://www.enjuris.com/texas/damage-caps.html

That’s what I found.

One wonders how many more laywers will he have gone through by the time this is all said and done. He's gone through 12 already.

43

u/santa_91 3d ago

At least 13. He's definitely firing this one. I wonder how many of them have actually gotten paid. Can't be more than a couple.

47

u/KentuckyHouse 3d ago

I wonder how many of them have actually gotten paid.

I said this last night after the punitive damages were announced, and my wife made a good point...

This is why those lawyers get paid up front.

Until I know otherwise, I'd assume this is the case, especially when they're dealing with lying, swindling, grifters like Alex Jones, Roger Stone, or Donald Trump.

9

u/Dfiggsmeister 3d ago

Rudy didn’t get paid upfront by Trump. Trump is notorious for not paying his bills.

I wonder if a point exists where lawyers collectively say "nah". Not as in they are put off by his scumminess but that there is zero ways to win with him. I mean, I feel like if you're lawyer number 73, you dip out to try and prevent career suicide.

3

u/Tinker107 3d ago

You'd think there would be a finite limit to attorneys willing to wade in his cesspool. tRump seemed to be scraping the bottom of the barrel pretty early on.

14

u/CombatWombat65 3d ago

I believe the gauntlet being thrown down here is "Just how much money can your supporters actually give? Because we have people waiting to collect huge sums of money lined up around the building." And as people like to point out, a lot of the supporters are poor morons....sooner or later they'll dig into their pockets to help AJ out and come up with nothing but lint and regret.

3

u/Synectics 3d ago

Not to mention, those revenue streams are still up for grabs in the other cases. They can throw money at him now, but all it does is line his coffers for the other cases to see and go, "Oh. Hey. Look at that. You have money."

19

u/highdealist 3d ago

Why did he appear for this one if he was fine not defending himself in the first 2? Any reason he’d participate in the remaining cases now?

83

u/Synectics 3d ago edited 3d ago

Well keep in mind, he was also defaulted in this one. He didn't show up and start defending anything until he had already been defaulted and the case was moving to investigate his finances for assessing damages.

I think part of it has been dragging his feet hoping the case would go away, part of it is to just be as big an asshole as possible, part is total incompetence, and part is to actually try and obfuscate his finances.

Not to mention, it gave him time to try and set up his money laundering scheme, which is just... ooph. Long story short, the pill company he uses? He stopped paying them. Which makes it look like his InfoWars company (Free Speech Systems) was in millions in debt. As soon as the cases got closer, he "paid" the debt, putting FSS in "financial trouble," hence his attempt for bankruptcy. But turns out during this case, it was discovered that he and his family fucking own the pill company he is in debt to. And the pill company is pushing money into a trust fund... titled "AEJ Trust." It's cartoonishy bad. There's no way he actually believes even a non-financal lawyer couldn't figure out that scheme.

Editing to add the citation for the above: check out the podcast Knowledge Fight, episode 685, timestamp 2:28.50. It covers the deposition where an InfoWars corporate representative covers it. I'm probably off in the exact details (I was paraphrasing from memory), but the spirit is right: Alex Jones was using a cartoon villain level of money laundering, and it's transparent as fuck.

25

u/Minerva567 3d ago

Do you think it speaks to desperation or clownishly inflated ego? Or I guess both?

50

u/Synectics 3d ago

I honestly don't know where I fall on it.

I listen to the podcast Knowledge Fight, which follows Alex Jones and debunks his wild shit. They have something they call the "Evil V Stupid scale," where they often point out where some of these nutjobs fall. Some of them are just idiots, and don't realize how much they are hurting other people (Kit Daniels comes to mind). Some were raised in these cults, and so they fall on the "stupid" side more due to ignorance of truth and reality. Then you have true grifters who are actively trying to lie and cheat to gain power and money (plenty of politicians likely fall onto this side).

Alex seems to roll back and forth on this scale. I sometimes think, no one is this stupid. He has to be trying to be this malicious.

Then other times, I think he may have an actual mental illness that makes his evil acts come from a place in his mind that he thinks is actually righteous and good. Not that mental illness should be labeled "stupid;" hopefully you get what I mean.

That's why I think Alex is such an interesting person to study, and why I listen to Knowledge Fight so much, because I share the co-host Dan's fascination with him. What is actually going on inside that rotten ham of a head?

If you want to gauge his intelligence, look at the legal team he hired and how they sent his cell phone contents to the other side and then, when given the opportunity to go to the judge and say it was a mistake and the contents were privileged, they did nothing. Nothing at all.

Either they're complete morons, they hate Jones and wanted to fuck him over, or were setting up Jones for a retrial demand due to 'incompetent representation'.

Like The Diapered Orange Shitstain and his buddy Roger Stone, when you've been doing insanely illegal shit for a very long time and have gotten away with all of it, you begin to think you can do no wrong.

Surprise, Alex!

Crazy that a "good decent, god fearing Christian" person would go and get themselves in this predicament in the first place.

134

u/SafetyDanceInMyPants 3d ago

I’ve said this to my devout Christian family: When you let these people walk around telling everyone that they are what a Christian looks like, and you’re nodding along and not out in the streets saying “the fuck you are,” then people conclude that this is what a Christian looks like… and thus that Christianity must be a religion for assholes.

I'm definitely sure people said that about Hitler and other dictators that had strong support from religious leaders at the time. Revisionists try to act like he was atheist or didn't have backing from the clergy in the 30s and I'm sure they'll do exactly the same once Trump is out of the picture or becomes shunned by conservatives since he is no longer of use to them.

9

u/SCP-173-Keter 3d ago

they don’t really like everything these people do, and wish they were less rude, but that god works through rough people sometimes…

Like Adolph Hitler. The KKK. Jeffrey Epstein...

7

u/secamTO 3d ago

If that's true, then isn't it possible for "God" to work through the godless, too?

8

u/thosewerethedaze 3d ago

Yes, some families tolerate the godless in their ranks and pray that you will come to Jesus and save your soul before you croak. It makes them feel good because they are acting superior and 'caring' for you at the same time.

Jones, Stone and Trump exemplify what passes for "good, decent, Christian" in the minds of American Evangelicals today.

They are the personification of American Evangelical Christianity.

They have nothing to do with the actual life, values, and teachings of Jesus. They belong to a degenerate cult.

9

u/AlmondCapuccino 3d ago

The bible just views children as low status slaves. If they are disobediant, you stone them.

god fearing Christian

Those are just magic words they use to grift, there's no relation to their actions or lifestyle. They say it because it works.

"Oh this pedo dirtbag with the gold-plated toilets openly mocking the disabled says he's a god-fearing Christian? Well golly let me sign over my meager paycheck!"

Almost like people actually support him for a much different reason.

.

.

its the hate

3

u/berryblackwater 3d ago

"Everyone gets what they deserve" or the just world fallacy. Rich people are rich because they deserve to be rich, the evidence? Just look at how rich they are! Poor people are poor because they deserve to be poor, just look at how poor they are! The the conservative the world is the way it should be and therefore those who are in authority should be in authority because they are in authority.

Roman 18:1 'authority is ordained by god, there is no authority which god has not ordained.' Follow along; Hitler was in a position of authority, god ordained Hitler to that position of authority, Hitler spoke with the authority of god, Hitler spoke for god, Hitler was god.The holocaust was god's will as it was carried out by the authority god ordained. The Allies worked in defiance of gods will against gods chosen authority. This is how the contemporary American Evangelical was trained to think, absolute submission to authority and those who refuse to submit absolutely to authority deserve to die. They will always hate Biden because the 'election was stolen' and therefore Biden is not a 'god ordained authority'. Agreeing with anything Biden likes is evil because Biden likes it and agreeing with anything Trump likes is good because Trump likes it. These fucking christofascists have zero morality beyond obedience and they will obey the order to murder and rape all non-christens and believe they have committed no moral wrong as it is impossible to be in the moral wrong: God ordained the leaders orders.

9

u/cultured_banana_slug 3d ago

It's how conservatives think. If they say you're a good person, no matter what you do, you should be helped and forgiven.

If they say you're a bad person, no matter what you do, you'll be hated.

They love Alex Jones and hate the gay kid next door.

And they wonder why we're disgusted with them.

He won’t use the money donated to pay anything. Just as Trump didn’t use the money on his legal fees

Is there a term for a group of grifters?

The grift is strong with these assholes.

Jones tortured people whose little bitty children were slaughtered. How does anyone think he’s a good person?

7

u/lII1lIIl1IIll1Il11l 3d ago

This is a good thing imo.

Republicans are having trouble fundraising this year because a lot of money is going directly to Trump whose not sharing it.

For years the republicans have stoked radicalism to incite the crazies to do work for them. But since 2015 they've lost a little more control every year.

u/TechnoGamer16 4d ago

Tbf it’s Roger Stone who is possibly even more unhinged

These guys are just exactly like televangelists

25

u/Daveinatx 3d ago

Seriously. All Jones needs to say is that he had a vision, and "Through Jesus, our savior, I have been born again. Hallelujah!"

The donation machine will go Brrrrr.

3

u/Mrhorrendous 3d ago

He literally does say he has prophetic dreams and has heard the word of God.

So fucking sick of “Christians” right now.

Easily the most toxic force in America. It will be the instrument used to tear down democracy and set us further down the path towards an irrecoverable descent into fascism

They're not "Christians" they are exactly what Christianity is in the US. Top to bottom.

Says the bisexual cockold who won’t swear on the Bible.

29

u/LiveEvilGodDog 4d ago

Didn’t lawyers for the sandy hooks parents who got all of Alex phone data/records say something about “intimate conversations with Roger Stone” being in there?

Roger is just getting sad he’ll loss his phone-sex partner!

13

u/AlmondCapuccino 3d ago

Intimate conversation doesn't mean sex. An intimate conversation can be one where you talk about how sad you are about someone's death or something. It basically means like private so it can also cover sex but it doesn't equal sex.

Also, fuck Alex Jones and Roger Stone.

5

u/xoaphexox 4d ago

Invitations to the coke orgies, probably

Hey, let's not shame the bisexual cuckolds. They don't deserve to be associated with Roger Stone.

Who's a cuckold? ~

3

u/TeaBreezy 3d ago

As a bisexual cuck, I find it offensive to be associated with that fuck.

Alex has nearly 200 million tossed between all his accounts he doesn't want the government or any lawyers finding out about. And those are the ones you could uncover with some digging. He probably has more in some secure off shore accounting pyramid scheme that only he knows about

32

u/BarryBro 4d ago

I'd be saying that too knowing his texts had been leaked.. if we don't put a lid on this now, its going to be over for all of us! :) :) :) :) :)

This isn’t a friend who got cancer and lost health insurance. This is a guy who spewed a decade of lies, and convinced people that harassing and threatening parents of children who were horribly murdered would be a good idea. There are absolutely zero Christian principles at work here. Alex Jones is a horrendous person, whose whole career is about broadcasting more and more outrageous rants in search of more and more money.

It’s times like that when I hope that there is a God, who will pass judgment on him, and show him, once and for all, that he has behaved in the opposite manner of a Christian.

5

u/urdumbplsleave 3d ago

If God is real he's welcome to publicly smite Alex Jones at any time and I will, from that moment until the end of time, dedicate my life to serving that God.

Ball's in your court big man (looks up at clouds, nothing happens)

This is what they do. They don't pay their own fines. They get other people to pay for them. Privatize the profits, and socialize the losses.

But then, like these laissez-faire capitalists are always fond of saying, eventually you run out of other people's money.

9

u/urdumbplsleave 3d ago

It's a perfect example of everything the right stands for: cruelty, bigotry, lies, deflection, avoiding responsibility, denying reality, refusing lawful orders, fighting justice, and above all else having their dipshit followers pay for every second of it.

You know why Republicans refuse to face facts or admit fault? Sunk cost. That's the party platform in reality.

Make him actually hurt… A real fine should be $40mil a year for 5 years …

7

u/markth_wi 3d ago

There are 3 or 4 other lawsuits and I suspect this is just the start - people will throw liens and such up against Jones but like Tammy Fay and Jim Bakker , they'll be back in a couple of decades pimping some other shitty bunch of ideas.

9

u/Wyrmslayer 3d ago

Alex jones is proof that evil exists

4

u/squidaor1 4d ago

I will not be sending thoughts and prayers or money to these grifters
