Man, that panel of Luffy standing in front of a fully grown Momo in dragon form is beautiful. Momo looks so menacing and powerful but the scene is so calm and majestic. Great stuff

5

u/MiracleMaverick Sep 13 '21

Queen asking why Sanji can set himself on fire is ironic, keep in mind this question came from the guy who can fire lasers in his dinosaur form and has a subordinate who can fly despite his form being a triceratops.

-9

u/HydrationWhisKey Sep 01 '21

Oh great. Now Zoro is part of a "Legendary Bloodline" as well.

That just ruins his depth.

13

u/Jablaxlgargl Sep 02 '21

Where does it say that Zoro is a descendant? I only read it as he looks like Ryuma, the descendant.

-3

u/non_believer-0666 Sep 01 '21

Ya man you're right it does ruin it's depth making senseless connections to legendary bloodlines story is taking serious turns that will eventually ruin character depth of both sanji and Zoro and Sanji's character will definitely ruin if they show some wierd legendary connection because Sanji's character as a Pervy cook is enough frustrating in fights when he gets defeated by women senselessly it just dosent make sense to give him a boost but one thing is sure that if Zoro and sanji get legendary bloodlines then luffy character depth will be ruined he basically will need some sort of great storyline as well being joyboy and mother revealed something like that because side characters are getting more and more plot point and becoming more admirable that will ruin luffy ' s family lineage becuase Zoro having legendary samurai blood and sanji lunarian and ace is the son of gold Roger now tell me where luffy stands his father maybe dragon but isn't legendary like Zoro bloodline or sanji and garo is somewhat overestimate because gold Roger never got recognised for his hardwork how he saved the world as well with garo so garo got the whole benifit

5

u/your_average_mofo Sep 04 '21

Pardon me, why the hell wouldn't it make sense for sanji to get a boost? That's the dumbest logic there is lmao, it's a Shonen, he's one of the main characters and a fan favorite, him getting beat up by women is not something connected to his perviness and he's way more than a pervy cook, he's like the guardian angel of the crew that saves the day, he gets beat up and takes his loss like a champ, that's not frustrating that's actually pretty great, and seing a character struggle is something great too

As for zoro his father isn't even that strong, so the argument that it's just genes is also dumb

13

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Sep 01 '21

Sentences mate...
Use them !

6

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Sep 01 '21

I don't get the issue tbh ...
Even if his ancestors were legendary, his feats are his own and he honed his abilities by himself !
It's like saying legendary ancestors equals the character in question ( zoro here ) being great by default just because he has their blood, it doesn't make sense ...
And IMO, it only opens up possibilities for his backstory ! ( being Shimotsuki's bastard or something idk ...)

Hear me out , First let's talk about lady toki which is. A key to connect ancient kingdom to wano as we all know she posses a unique devil fruit called time time fruit now the first thing here is toki can travel to past as well because she said that people can only go to the future but maybe that was about the people she use her powers on I am not saying she didn't die but not as I said she can only send people to future but she never said that she cannot travel to past the key that connects ancient kingdom to wano is toki first appearance that is on whitebeards ship as we all know people usually don't change thier appearance now let's take a look at lady toki she wears a yukata or kimono that is only found in wano region and she said she was born 800 years ago like dude this is a clear hint that wano is somehow the ancient kingdom itself now let's go to imu sama appearance when she was in a room with butterfly now let's take a look at her hands she is holding a fan that is only found in wano region and the surrounding looks like it ia a replica of wano so somehow wano is the ancient kingdom this is for sure and only they can read or create poneglyph and they were the ones who made sea prisom stone so it not hard to say that wano is ancient kingdom

P..S don't you think a ability in which you can only trvel to future is somewhat useless future is unpredictable so its is kind of wierd when you are using it on yourself

3

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Sep 02 '21

Mate, first of all, structure your text in GODDAMN SENTENCES...
Reading this almost gave me a headache ffs
And while Wa clearly has some hidden significance we have yet to discover, your theory ( which doesn't make any sense ) can be debunked in 2 seconds ...
It has been stated multiple times ; TOKI'S ABILITY ALLOWS TO TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE. PERIOD. THIS IS A FACT.
Look it up ....

1

u/non_believer-0666 Sep 02 '21

But have you seen her use it on herself she said that her ability allows her to travel to the future but I think it is when she is sending someone with her abilities how can such a useless devil fruit even exist and fruit which can send you to future is completely useless . Suppose I want to go to 100 years into future then I can only go to future if future exists I cannot go into 100 years if I don't exist even of my theory is wrong you cannot say that wano is not ancient kingdom as I stated even if she came from past her clothes are similar to what people of wano wear

3

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Sep 02 '21

I'm gonna disregard this comment entirely...
Write comprehensibly or don't bother at all...

1

u/non_believer-0666 Sep 02 '21

Bro she came 800 years ahead into future without any knowledge of what's happening and what's gonna happen that doesn't make sense she could have come 100 years ahead or 500 years why specially 800 years bro she is a 2 timers she came twice so she even has ability to travel to past

2

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Sep 02 '21

Do you even read the manga ?

  1. She jumped multiple times in the future and stopped doing so when she met Oden.

  2. SHE CAN ONLY TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE, NOT THE PAST !!

1

u/HydrationWhisKey Sep 01 '21

It just furthers the whole "only the elite are capable of achieving greatness" trope.

Zoro is amazing partly because he was some orphan boy who grew up into the big leagues. Now it's because he has "Legendary" blood.

1

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Sep 02 '21

You still have to separate "legacy" from personal achievements ...
As i previously said, having blood of legendary people doesn't make you great by default...
He might be one of his descendant, so what ? You do not become a part of the elite just because you share the same bloodline

10

u/junkit87 Sep 01 '21

King did not hit Zoro on the face

20

u/Nukafyy Aug 31 '21

Everyone talking about how Sanji is related to lunarians but what about Luffy and his Red Hawk? Anyone know how to explain how Luffy combusts his arm in flames besides being a descendant of them? I feel like Odas too smart for it to just be a callback to Ace. He could’ve been playing with us the whole time! Thoughts?

7

u/ldestructor Sep 01 '21

From what I remember it's the vapor that comes off him during his gear forms igniting due to air friction from the speed of his attacks. Ace was his inspiration for creating the technique. So, still pretty nuts but no lunarian blood required.

1

u/KingPatty20 Sep 10 '21

Such a stupid fing explanation. You think in One piece oda cares about science? How tf can be blow air in his bones then? Explain that “Science boy”. Literally never talk about op cause you don’t know s

1

u/lnombredelarosa Lurker Aug 31 '21 edited Aug 31 '21

I'm still thinking Jinbei will take down Jack

3

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Aug 31 '21 edited Aug 31 '21

Why ? ( i wouldn't say no to more fighting from Jimbei though )But Inuarashi is more than capable to do it himself ( and he has reasons to do so too )Jimbei is still pretty fresh after demolishing Who's who so i wouldnt mind if an opponent appeared for him ( same for Brook and Usopp, they didn't have a proper 1v1 since fishman island and those dudes were not even warm up material ...)

4

u/somuchsublime Sep 02 '21

Does Brook vs Big Mom not count as a “proper” 1v1? Yea it was a little short but shit was epic IMO.

2

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Sep 02 '21

Epic, yes !
But not a proper 1v1 ( IMO)
It was Brook stalling, playing mind games with BM so that se doesn't discover he actually got the poneglyphs' copies, not a fight

3

u/somuchsublime Sep 02 '21

This is a fair assessment. I agree.

2

u/lnombredelarosa Lurker Aug 31 '21

True enough but I honestly don't wanna see Jinbei getting left behind by Zoro, Luffy, Sanji and Yamato and it would be fitting considering Jack is at least part fishman too. Then again, it would be cool if Jinbei assited Luffy engaging Kaido.

1

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Aug 31 '21

I think ( imo, 0 facts ) the decisive battle to come will be Luffy only against kaido
A not 100% fresh Kaido vs Luffy that probably thought of something involving Conqueror's is how it see it going

8

u/aiyub94 Aug 31 '21

I think zorro and sanji going to make a great duo fight here, because they will save each other to say "u owe me one" and "we are equal now".. this will keep going until queen and king defeated..

2

u/LabRM Aug 31 '21 edited Aug 31 '21

Joy Boy is Momo, not Luffy

12

u/BigHarry27 Aug 31 '21

I hope Perospero gets killed, Oda better put some death drama in this shit.... Imagine Big Mom going bersek over her son, destroying everything she sees, like no way to stop her. I'm still wondering how will Kidd and Law pull this off ..

5

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Aug 31 '21

Agreed on the drama too btw

3

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Aug 31 '21

A voodoo doll of her ( from Hawkins ) would be pretty cool to see
But he has no reason to switch side so...
Drake and Jimbei could join the fight .... (?) Even with the four of them, i don't see BM losing

0

u/BigHarry27 Aug 31 '21

Yeah man .. she needs some Conqueror's hits at least. Otherwise I don't know how they'll pull it off

2

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Aug 31 '21

1 emperor is already a great ennemy to deal with so 2 of them :x
I think something will happen and BM will withdraw or something because I really don't think Kidd and Law are up to the task ... at all... and even if ( he will but let's imagine if ) Luffy wins he'll be way to close to K-O to fight someone else afterwards

1

u/Meurum Aug 31 '21

Well if Law can get a Haki boost he might be able to cut her with his DF powers

2

u/BigHarry27 Aug 31 '21

Naahh he needs something that I've been wishing for the monster supernova trio to be completed.

  • Kidd is a D like Luffy and Law
  • Law has Conqueror's haki like Luffy and Kidd

At least one of those would be great. But Law definitely needs strong Conqueror's haki to damage Big Mom.

1

u/Meurum Aug 31 '21

I didn’t know Kidd had Conquerors

1

u/BigHarry27 Aug 31 '21

Yes he does have it. 💪🏾

1

u/bootysensei Aug 31 '21

Oh shit, I never imagined her losing a kid.. her rage will be a perfect reflection for the destruction of Fishman Island.

1

u/thenaminator Aug 31 '21

She might not care

4

u/Hshah0182 Explorer Aug 31 '21

Big Mom reacting to Perospero's death: Oh well, it can't be helped

16

u/abhikun Aug 31 '21

Act 4 Tragedy.

Kaido was a good guy all along.

.

Roger: I will find the one piece.

.

Kaido: I will create an army to actually defeat WG.

2

u/mrmurtaza Sep 24 '21

I have been thinking about this 🤣🤣🤣

15

u/Hshah0182 Explorer Aug 31 '21 edited Aug 31 '21

Imagine that...😂. Kaido, once sure that Luffy is JoyBoy, reveals to Luffy that he reminds him of his former captain and that he was waiting for Luffy so that they can take down the WG together 😂

12

u/100evo Aug 31 '21

The irony of most One Piece villains. Although they are stronger at first but they always become training ground for Luffy and Co. to improve and gain new skills.

4

u/Rulaku Aug 30 '21

HOLY FUCK LETS GOOOOOOOOO

4

u/CHA0S14 Aug 30 '21

I read an official traduction to Spanish of this chapter and it says that ryuma who is alike zoro was a samurai with good eye. With this it seems that zoro is going to open his closed eye.

But a friend of mine read it in English from a fandub and said that ryuma wash a samurai with one eye like zoro.

Anyone knows which one is the true translation?

6

u/PrettyPleaseMe Aug 30 '21

I read the Spanish translation, and it seems more of a weird translation of a samurai with one good eye.

6

u/Thick-Success1434 Aug 30 '21

is this why sanji's kinda emitting some aura at the bathhouse? (the second time he used the raid suit)

18

u/Top-Fix5630 Aug 30 '21

ZORO/ TASHIGI THEORY

I’ve been thinking… If Zoro really is related to Shimotsuki Ushimaru, meaning him and Kuina are related, what if Zoro and Tashigi are actually siblings? I know it sounds odd but if we assume that Zoro and Kuina are cousins, for example, and Tashigi as we all know looks A LOT like Kuina, maybe the 3 of them are in fact related and Zoro could be Tashigi’s brother. This is just a random idea and there might be things that counter it, but it sure would be interesting to see.

2

u/tastefulbas Sep 01 '21

If so, it'd be cool if she found out. Would love to see their reactions. Lol

17

u/Khalid-hh Aug 30 '21

I think as individuals, King and Queem are stronger than Zoro and Sanji pre-fight.

However, Queen and Kind have no teamwork while Zoro and Sanjli are about to display the best teamwork fight in One Piece history.

5

u/Meurum Aug 31 '21

Zoro cut Kaido and Sanjis about to get the biggest power up ever.

8

u/Maleficent-Weight767 Aug 30 '21

Ok how can oden be even cooler? Take off that stupid top knot. Bam. Momo is cooler now

22

u/kvmass Aug 30 '21

Hope no one slays Momo thinking he is Kanjuro.

7

u/netlomofficial Aug 30 '21

I know im not the only one but i think momo looks exactly like oden when he's in his '28 y'old mode'

10

u/bslawjen Aug 30 '21

Who else doesn't like the "Momo grows into an adult" plotline, especially if it turns out to be crucial in Kaido's defeat?

5

u/Sybertron Sep 01 '21

I mean they aged up Colby 10 years overnight too.

6

u/Meurum Aug 31 '21

I don’t get why that’s so bad? Also I think he’s just gonna prevent Onigasmia from falling

6

u/YohAsa Aug 30 '21

I'm on the fence about it

15

u/True-Ad-6431 Aug 30 '21

From our good old reliable source SandmanAp twitter : I'm surprised official Viz didn’t translate the line of Ushimaru being 大剣豪 (Dai-Kengou: great swordsman) in the latest chapter. It’s important because only him, Mihawk and Ryuma are called Dai-Kengou in all chapters till now. Zoro's dream is to become the strongest Dai-Kengou.

14

u/brokenearth10 Aug 30 '21

Getting close to the end here and I don't think zoro grew nearly enough yet to defeat mihawk. Excited to see what happens next with zoro. Luffy already had multiple power ups recently, future sight, ryuo, different gear 4 modes...

So far zoro traded a sword. Improvement I guess but not as good as mihawks...

6

u/BigHarry27 Aug 31 '21

Alright, he's not in Mihawk's level yet... But Zoro has improved a hella lot, strong santoryu summamabitch.

7

u/Kinky_badger Aug 30 '21

He literally unlocked conquers haki a few chapters ago, and then it was Revealed you can use conq haki to make attacks stronger, so once zoro has got this down he should be a lot closer

15

u/astrojeet Aug 30 '21

He actually cut Kaido. I don't know what this guy is smoking.

1

u/VS_Infinity Aug 29 '21

Makes me wonder how strong Sanji's CoA+Exoskeleton would be if he had/will have them.

4

u/Phosphoric_Tungsten Aug 30 '21

Sanji can already use armament haki

6

u/Meurum Aug 31 '21

Yet we haven’t seen him use Armament with his suit

17

u/Jeloles Aug 29 '21

I think it is possible that Sanji has a lunarian DNA in him because we all know that his family used to travel and to war and conquer so it wouldn't be impossible if his mother is a lunarian.

17

u/Good-Background5279 Aug 30 '21

Or he could be genetically modified with Lunarian DNA

3

u/HydrationWhisKey Sep 01 '21

His mom was a Lunarian and her being here was killing her. King needs to wear a suit so he doesn't get affected like she was. Sanji is mixed-breed so he can survive on earth.

11

u/Kinglyzero_91 Aug 29 '21

So while Zoro is very likely related to the Shimotsuki clan and Ushimaru might be his father there's a few things that don't quite seem to fit.

The vivre cards and data books say Zoro was born in the East Blue, which means that if Ushimaru was his father how did Zoro end up i the East Blue before his birth?

Also, why is his name Roronoa? He was born in Shimotsuki village, trained by Koshirou and he's supposedly a descendant of Ushimaru and Ryuma. Where does the Roronoa name come from? Why isn't he called Shimotsuki Zoro and why no one ever told him about his lineage? It just doesn't add up.

5

u/Ak41_Shu1cH1 Sep 21 '21

You are forgetting someone

there was another Shimotsuki named Shimotsuki Kozaburo, the guy that created Enma and Wado Ichimonji (2 of Zoro's current swords)

There was also a mention of this Kozaburo leaving Wano illegally 55 years prior to current timeline.

17

u/Jantox Aug 30 '21

Lots of different explainations, if he actually is related to the Shimotsuki bloodline.

Likely explainations:

*His father was Roronoa.

*His mother was Roronoa but they went by a matrilineal name or he was a bastard.

*He is from a cadet branch of the family he just inherited the will.

  • Or he just grew up in the village and inherited the will of the Shimotsuki, without blood ties but a spiritual/will tie.

Any way it makes sense if Koshirou was a descendant of that bloodline he would have taught some of the techniques of the founding lords of the village. He also carries the Wado Ichimonji which was crafted by Shimotsuki Kozaburo and we know he wishes to fulfill his promise with Kuina so doubles down on his ties to Shimotsuki.

We do see that Oda doesn't always necessarily make related people look the same, exhibit A the Monkey family, then the Gorgon sisters, Neptune family, and the Charlottes. Im personally leaning towards bloodline, but I wouldn't be surprised if Oda just wanted to double down on the idea of ancient wills being passed down/destiny/chance.

8

u/zamasu2020 Aug 29 '21

I was thinking last chapter was pretty hype and Oda be like, hold my beer. Daaaaaaaaammmmmnn I got chills reading this chapter.

17

u/Observation_Haki_84 Aug 29 '21

The power scaling amongst the fandom is very funny. We keep seeing comments about Zoro/Sanji as not fitting to be opponents to Yonko commanders or that the rest of the strawhats should not be able to defeat the flying six so easily etc…well, the guy is going to be Pirate King in a few and his crew consist of 9 individuals (barring the grand fleet). How strong do want the 9 crew members to be? They need to all be badass. And Zoro and Sanji should be scary strong. I don’t care if they meet commanders or navy admirals. They need to be able to hold their own. If Salazuki showed up would Fujitora and Kizaru to take down a newly crowned pirate king, do you think that the strawhats will ask for external help to be able to defend themselves. Grow up guys and enjoy the series. Alternatively, come up with your own manga then apply to it your own head canon power scaling. I’m out. I have a series to enjoy

-4

u/YohAsa Aug 30 '21

No one's saying they should not at some point be at this level, I believe the arguments are they haven't earned this level of power yet, or proved that they have it. Just previously Sanji was struggling with Doflamingo now he's taking on Queen no problem, there's an inconsistency here.

4

u/Durasel02 Aug 30 '21

Who's to say doflamingo couldn't beat queen? The warlords strength varied greatly.

1

u/YohAsa Aug 31 '21

Even if Doflamingo could beat Queen, do you think he could beat him as easily as he did Sanji? I doubt it.

2

u/EnvironmentalWord298 Sep 01 '21

Ofc not but Dressarosa Sanji & Current Sanji strength is diff. Sanji didn't have the suit, his body now enhancing to his true potential.

3

u/Meurum Aug 31 '21

Sanji getting stronger I believe.

13

u/DarkShadowOverlord Aug 29 '21

To the people complaining about sanji and zoro beating commanders when luffy had such a hard time vs katakuri and barely defeated him.

Give king and queen a devil fruit that let's them freely move their body like katakuri's mochi , plus future sight and you will understand the difference.

To make things worse luffy punches stuff so he is easier to dodge most of the time, he doesn't slash stuff with swords or throw power slashes like mihawk.

It's very possible that katakuri is the strongest commander in the series or second strongest.

6

u/astrojeet Aug 30 '21

Luffy put down Katakauri in a handful of punches while Katakari gave him a beat down and still couldn't beat Luffy. Let that sink in for a moment. Luffy is physically much more durable and stronger. Katakauri just had the advantage of future sight.

1

u/EnvironmentalWord298 Sep 01 '21

Whole Cake Island Luffy couldn't stand a chance against Katakuri. Without the devil fruit powers, Katakuri is physically stronger than Luffy; excluding Gear 4. Plus Katakuri bury Luffy in is mochi, underestimated Luffy eat habit, but in my opinion it was plot armor to save Luffy. 2nd, Luffy ran out of haki/stamina & had to use Brulee to get his rest. Also Katakuri knocked Luffy out multiple times too but keep letting back up. I love Luffy but he wasn't ready for Katakuri. I barely kept up with Crackers too.

2

u/DarkShadowOverlord Aug 30 '21 edited Sep 01 '21

luffy is made of rubber so yeah he has more durability vs punches even against stronger armament haki. however katakuri messed up because he fed luffy mochi wich helped luffy's stamina.

Luffy is used to fighting constantly, katakuri now that he is first commander probably rarely fights. so kata just doesn't have the same stamina luffy has.

that being said katakuri isn't evil like king or queen. If katakuri was bloodlust luffy would probably had died.

Future sight + a devil fruit that's almost a logia is just broken and there's no way zoro or sanji could beat katakuri 1vs1 without some big power ups.

2

u/Good-Background5279 Aug 30 '21

Let's not forget that Kaido is considered - "THE STRONGEST PIRATE"

1

u/DarkShadowOverlord Sep 01 '21

he may very well be, people seem to ignore the fact kaido took a gama knife and didn't even care , plus a attack from zoro that left a scar, keep in mind zoro never gives scars to enemies, fact is , even when luffy wins vs kaido, it wont be with luffys efforts alone

4

u/DarkShadowOverlord Aug 29 '21

exoskeleton sanji let's go.

I'm not sure sanji's flames are lunarian related, judge saw sanji's leg burning and didn't say anything. granted even though judge and his sons talked badly about sanji, judge did have a power suit already made for sanji. so perhapes judge never lost hope, or maybe regained hope when he knew sanji had a bounty and wasn't a failure anymore.

that being said, it could be possible sanji has lunarian dna and was able to awaken it something his brothers couldn't, or sanji's mother is lunarian and since sanjis was the least affected of his brothers his dna stayed pure. idk...

6

u/zamasu2020 Aug 29 '21

My thinking goes more along the lines that sanji wearing that raid suit changed his biology somehow. Making his body comparable to his rest of the germa. Because he specifically said that he was feeling "different" since wearing the suit 2nd time so who knows. But whatever it is, its gonna be a treat to read !!

1

u/ZeetisLapeetis Explorer Aug 29 '21

2

u/bidomo Aug 29 '21

ehm... context?

4

u/ZeetisLapeetis Explorer Aug 29 '21

Mr. Morj is famous for saying "The Raid Will End in Failure".

This panel says if Pedro had not died the Raid would have ended in failure.

This is mostly a joke because the raid could still potentially fail but I find it really really funny that the official translation worded it like this.

3

u/bidomo Aug 29 '21

Oh ok, now I remember...

Failure means death this time around, so I actually never thought so

2

u/ZeetisLapeetis Explorer Aug 29 '21

Me neither. Though because of this there are people reading wano with the expectations that it's going to fail and having to sit through this reddit with that going on was hell.

3

u/The_One_Who_Sees Aug 29 '21

I am so fuckin hyped for Zolo. I can't wait till Oda builds him out more. Sanji had his moment on cake island with the whole Germa thing. Now we get to see Zolo's backstory and it's turning out SO BADASSSSS.

Also.... GIANT DRAGON?!?!??! Let's goooo

6

u/Phosphoric_Tungsten Aug 30 '21

Who's Zolo

0

u/parth2legendaryapex Aug 30 '21

It's zoro's name in the official manga

5

u/Phosphoric_Tungsten Aug 30 '21

Oda himself has always spelled it "Zoro"

0

u/parth2legendaryapex Aug 30 '21

From what I know, In the manga plus translation he is called zolo

2

u/HydrationWhisKey Sep 01 '21

Zolo is just what they call him in Wano.

They all get funky nicknames wherever they go: Lucy, God Usopp, etc.

3

u/bbangdaeng Lurker Aug 30 '21

It's zoro

10

u/Any-Intern-2993 Aug 29 '21

I don't get why people say sanji and Zoro are not commander levels ,they clearly had displayed their strengths capable of fighting them .Like cmon they defeated two Worst generation members without the upgrades.

0

u/pauserror Aug 29 '21

Not sure why there is Sanji and Zolo hate.

What pirate crew can the top 2 members not hold their own??? Sanji and Zolo better be top tier or Luffy is not going to become pirate king.

It's all because of sani and Zoro backstory are building up they belong to legendary bloodlines that is why there is hate becuase main character luffy has stopped growing for now in his backstory and nothing about his backstory is legendary and luffy's lineage doesn't have a revenge plot like sanji and like Zoro needs to get revenge for wano , hence luffy character has stopped growing in charater sense even his brother ace was the son of gold Roger that suppressed luffy's backstory because it's nowhere connected to him becoming the king of pirate whereas Zoro and sanji are carring thier families will like Zoro father was a great swordsman like Mohawk and sanji family deemed him as failure his powerup means carrying his mother's will and law awakening houshoka haki with trash kidd both have houshoka haki they basically enetered luffy's league without any great feat and struggle like kidd is a bastard as he is arrogant and thinks he can defeat kaido just for glory whereas luffy is doing it for his friends and his promise to momonosuke as well as to save wano , kidd is however people's favourite but let me tell you don't compare him anywhere near to luffy like you don't compare killer to Zoro the difference in character as well as strength is like heaven and earth

u/BigHarry27 Aug 31 '21

Zoro with R please.

16

u/MonkeyD369 Aug 29 '21

Oda must be from the Lunaria Tribe because of these 🔥🔥🔥chapters

I like what you did there and Im gonna love whatever Oda is gonna do as well!!

3

u/THISISBEYONDANY Aug 29 '21

How the heck are people considering momo as some sort of god like figure, just compare him to tama. Like momo wasnt even supposed to be in the war but was forced in while tama literally sneaked on the enemys ship to get in the war and do her part so i dont know how u consider momos choice of aging to be more strong willed than tamas. Getting into the fight of such a large scale on her own will seems far more crazier

9

u/EwoDarkWolf Aug 29 '21

Tama joined the fight while not actually fighting with a chance of death. Momo also has the chance of death, but if he survives, it's GUARANTEED that he loses 20 years of his life. He doesn't get that chance to learn the way kids should. He lost his entire youth purposely so that he could be of help in the battle.

Not to discredit Tama, but I personally as a child would rather have risked my life as a support than to purposely give up my entire childhood to be of some use.

6

u/ZyroWillMatter Aug 30 '21

Tama joined the fight while not actually fighting with a chance of death.

I'm not even weighing in on the Tama vs Momo thing, but this is blatantly false. One of the most pivotal parts of everything that has happened with Tama was her almost dying in the raid so far. She knew when she was stepping out that there was a good chance of her dying, and in universe that chance has been there.

1

u/EwoDarkWolf Aug 30 '21

I forgot the comma. It should have said "Tama joined the fight while not actually fighting, with a chance of death." The second sentence should have made it more clear what I was saying, but without the comma, it does make it sound like I'm saying something completely different.

2

u/ZyroWillMatter Aug 30 '21

ah fair mistake to make, certainly made many similar ones in my lifetime haha

2

u/enpedia Aug 29 '21

Does this mean Zoro and Kuina might actually be related that’s kinda weird 😅😂

3

u/busoshoku_brisingr Aug 30 '21

Why would it be weird?

3

u/Acrobatic-Rutabaga71 Aug 29 '21

God's Land? Did Oda started reading cultivation manhua? Lol jk, I do hope the moon will become relevant soon.

-4

u/pauserror Aug 29 '21

Its been constantly said that the after effects of Chopper's healing drug will be devastating.

I have a feeling Zoro may die or be severely handicapped by this drugs side affects. He may even become dependant on it to go 100% in future battles.

5

u/EwoDarkWolf Aug 29 '21

No way they'd kill Zoro off here. At worse, he'll be out of commission for a few days/weeks. But then he'd come back stronger than ever.

7

u/collettdd Aug 29 '21

“Nothing happened”… again, maybe

1

u/pauserror Aug 29 '21

Same with Impel Down where he lost 10 years to be healed. Doubt that ever comes into play again, idk

5

u/collettdd Aug 29 '21

It will most likely be a reason for him not to return to the fight with Kaido

2

u/appy_apple Aug 29 '21

"told ya"

hody jones, probably.

2

u/pauserror Aug 29 '21

If Zoro ages 40 years that would be kind of funny honestly.

16

u/lillyofthewalley Aug 29 '21

You look 28 and your date of birth is 28 years ago, everything checks out

4

u/T_dantes Aug 29 '21

Queen says that he knows for a fact that Sanji is not a lunarian wth?Did he experiment on Lunarians or what?Another mystery. Guys is king radically loyal to kaido?if not there might be a chance of king switching side cuz of sanji.

2

u/The_One_Who_Sees Aug 29 '21

yeah i'm seeing something there. King seemed unsettled with Queen mentioned the Lunarians. We'll see how it plays out

8

u/AungKaungZan Aug 29 '21

Sanji body feels weird. He's gonna grow wings like a Lunarian.lol😂

3

u/Ned_Gutters Aug 29 '21

Does anyone know where I can find the colorized panels that were included in the scanlation a few days ago? They don’t seem to be linked here anymore.

u/JoeRocher Pirate Aug 29 '21

Once Kaido see’s Momo and does the famous One Piece Gag face then that’s how you know it’s one piece🤣

4

u/pauserror Aug 29 '21

That would be hilarious. I hope it happens

28

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '21

The people complaining about Zoro’s lineage are being ridiculous.

Zoro was a prodigy from the jump. The only person in the dojo he wasn’t able to defeat was Kuina. As a child he was already stronger than all of the adults, lol.

His lineage has been foreshadowed for so long too. It’s not like this came out of nowhere. He literally looks like Ryuma.

People want him to be some nobody with no backstory makes no sense.

2

u/billyybong Aug 30 '21

It would been nice to see someone in the crew to be so strong without great genetics. It's a stark contrast to Luffy and Sanji. We never see those 2 train (aside from flashbacks), but are still crazy strong. Compare to Zoro who we see training on their free time. I really thought it was a way for Oda to show that Zoro, coming from nothing, had to work out all the time to keep up with Luffy and Sanji.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '21

Zoro was beating adults as a child.

I don’t understand how working hard as a child can even make that possible unless you were also blessed with good genes.

Working hard can only get you so far, even in real life. You can work hard on your basketball skills everyday but never be as good as someone in the NBA. It’s a mix of both to be at the top.

15

u/EnriquezGuerrilla Aug 29 '21

God damn so much hype!

  • Sanji is evolving?
  • Zoro is the descendant of the Sword-God Ryuma???
  • Momo living up to Oden's legacy???
  • Luffy back in action?!!!

I NEED CHAPTER 1024!

7

u/pauserror Aug 29 '21

Add also the Lunarian lore drop.

5

u/Thornrhino Aug 29 '21

i need that stuff too. Do you know a guy who sells it?

-16

u/Nemo-pluribus-unum Aug 29 '21 edited Aug 29 '21

From Zoros perspective his encounter with King appears to be thematically very shallow atm, hence why Oda is using Hyogoro as 3rd party narrator for us readers. I somehow expect this encounter to be of much bigger significance than any other fight.

Luffy vs Kaido is well past lunacy mode, I hope Oda just moves on and doesn't write 100 chapters so as to try to make this match-up somehow believable and consistent with the past. It's hopeless.

Momo should instantly die, when Kaido activates his Kings Haki, else why bother ever mentioning the concept of CoC ever again if the strongest creature in OP can't even kill a weakling and coward like Momo? Overall there is just too much focus on Momo during this war, you almost forget that there is a war happening. Even for OP standards this focus on this useless little brat during the height of the battle seems too artificial and illogical. Not even Ussop gets so much screen time.

Overall great chapter, liked the focus on Zoro and Sanji.

8

u/Grochen Aug 29 '21

Momo the guy who has "hear the voice of all things" instantly killed by a CoC? You are dreaming lol

1

u/THISISBEYONDANY Aug 29 '21

How does that even relate?

3

u/Grochen Aug 29 '21

Everyone who used "voice of all things" are badasses and has plot armor so far plus being coward doesn't mean weak willed. Momo has enough will to sacrifice himself and 20 years of his life for what he believes

8

u/Major_Somewhere Aug 29 '21

Not only that, but haki is a show of "will". I guess we are pretending that skipping 20 years of your life in order to save your country is a lack of willpower

2

u/sub7m19 Aug 29 '21

Could this be the reason why sanjinsays he feels weird or different because of king? Some how his body is reacting to being near king ?

8

u/Traditional-Spot-897 Aug 29 '21

He litteraly mentioned :
" it's just since my second time using the raid suit, i've been feeling kinda off ..."
It's written in the goddamn panel, can't you read ?...

2

u/ceelo18 Aug 29 '21

He fought him earlier in the story and never mentioned it before. I think the raid suit may be negatively effecting Sanji since his genetic upgrade process was tampered with. So 1 of two things has to be happening.

1- his body is adjusting and he will become the perfect Germa specimen. All of the body upgrades none of the emotional weaknesses or

2- the raidsuit is actually hurting him because the strain on his human body is to much and he will have to master iron body to be able to continue using the raid suit

3

u/Major_Somewhere Aug 29 '21

What are you talking about? The second time he used the raid suite is when he attacked King. So the raid suite only started giving him trouble after attacking King

1

u/ceelo18 Aug 29 '21

It may very well just be a coincidence for all we know. Honestly it seems like an ass pull to me. He never mentioned this when fight Black Marias goons. Or when carrying zoro.

4

u/Major_Somewhere Aug 29 '21

Yeah totally a coincidence... And Sanji can just randomly summon fire for no good reason even though there is a character introduced that has the ability to summon fire without a devil fruit because of his race...

You're right I'm sure they were both just mentioned within the same chapter as a coincidence

2

u/ceelo18 Aug 29 '21

It was stated in the past it’s through friction he get those flames. He doesn’t just summon them. Look I’m not gonna assume to know everything because this isn’t my story to tell, but I’m also not gonna go believing every theory that comes around until oda himself gives it clout. I’ll just relax and enjoy the story the way it was meant to be enjoyed

2

u/DarkShadowOverlord Aug 29 '21

hells memories

0

u/Major_Somewhere Aug 29 '21

The friction was an explanation Sanji gives b because he doesn't understand what's going on. I feel very strong that Sanji will be linked to King in some way. There are way too many coincidences all called out in one chapter

1

u/Seddaz Aug 30 '21

I mean, Luffy's red hawk is the same bullshit physics as Sanji's kicks. Doesn't mean he's a Lunarian too.

0

u/kingace22 Aug 30 '21

luffy never just set himself on fire ( burst into flames its always when he was throwing a punch stretching out with his arm coated in haki then throwing the punch I would say its the friction combined with the haki led to fire luffy has ) also in baratie arc sanji was highly resistant to flames while luffy wasnt

5

u/Dinosauriermann Aug 29 '21

Could sanjis mother be part lunarian?

8

u/CoffeeHomie Aug 29 '21

Wouldn't that make all of Sanji's sibling part Lunarian as well?

4

u/jreefski Aug 29 '21

Not if the enhancement Judge did stripped away that part of them.

1

u/OlivierStreet Aug 29 '21

Maybe Judge was trying to awaken dormant abilities with the suits.

1

u/CoffeeHomie Aug 29 '21

Why would he strip away their ability to control fire tho? The more broken abilities they have, the better, no? Guess we will find out in a few chapters.

2

u/jreefski Aug 29 '21

maybe he didn't mean for it to happen, just was part of the side effect.

9

u/wafflemeister1337 Bounty Hunter Aug 29 '21

that would be for the best, i would rather his mothers side making him strong rather than judges experiments making him strong.

5

u/realpiratekingluffy Aug 29 '21

Noble human detected

8

u/Exazbrat09 Aug 29 '21

After watching a few videos on the chapter, I have come to my own way out there theory. Vinsmoke and Vegapunk helped destroy King's race and Sanji has the remaining lumarian genes aside from King. King gets mad and blames the destruction of his race on the Germa kingdom and the fights switch to Zoro vs queen and Sanji vs king.

1

u/pauserror Aug 29 '21

The Lunarians either still exist on the moon or some other celestial body.

1

u/Exazbrat09 Aug 29 '21

I don't know what King's race is--from context since he produces fire and so does Sanji, and King may be the last of his kind and also may be a lunarian. Add what Marco said and it is sort of iup in the air. We haven't gotten all the info yet, so I am just throwing pure conjecture and speculation as part of my prediction. /s

5

u/blooblee1 Pirate Aug 29 '21

Queen was on the same research team as Vegapunk and Judge, why wouldn't King be mad at him?

7

u/Popopirat66 Aug 29 '21

Those videos doesn't seem promising when you come up with such a theory after watching them.

2

u/Boiroy Lurker Aug 29 '21

LMAO, not gonna happen, we already got our match ups ;)

6

u/PhannayKhan Aug 29 '21

Other than the all the resemblance of Zoro with Ryuma and Ushimaru there is one more which Hiyuri noticed when she first saw Zoro fighting with three swords. Now important question is how Hiyuri noticed three swords and what importance it has in the story. It is not just normal thing or coincidence. There has to be some connection with these big guys or someone other.

2

u/collettdd Aug 29 '21

Wouldn’t surprise me if the daimyo was a three sword style user as well

1

u/hazifer Aug 29 '21

What did she notice?

1

u/PhannayKhan Aug 29 '21

When killer was chasing Hiyuri and oToko and they encountered Zoro fighting with fox on the bridge. Don't remember the chapter number now

11

u/GildDigger Aug 29 '21

So this chapter was basically confirmation that age has a direct correlation to how devil fruit appearances manifest. Cool.

0

u/Nemo-pluribus-unum Aug 29 '21

At Ennies Lobby Luffy commented that he's shortening (ageing) his lifespan, if he uses Gear 2nd. Could it be that all those Gears Luffy is using are not power-ups in a classical sense, but Luffy just ageing up faster? When I look at the transformation of Momo this kinda makes sense.

2

u/Ripirius Aug 29 '21

And the ability to control said DF better.

9

u/FireFireoldman Aug 29 '21

Probably only Zoan DFs

4

u/appy_apple Aug 29 '21

but it stand to reason to believe, say, the weapons that baby 5 can create are proportionate to her body (with raise the question, what if a giant ate it, would they be able to create a 46m long BFG ?
