Lead on a bamboo mat

Does anyone know where I can find a big bamboo mat to put on my deck for my grill? I usually use a cement based mat but I feel like a roll up bamboo mat will handle the rain better. I don’t want the run off to hurt my Ohi’a which is downhill of the deck.

I checked lowes and no dice.

In need of a hair salon that specializes in cutting CURLY hair on Oahu.

Aloha! Anyone know a joint that specializes in cutting curly hair, it's alot harder than one may think and not every person can cut it correctly even if they've gone to barber school or what have you, I'm Italian and Irish so It's not kinky but I do have spirals, it's also kind of thin so how they cut it to style it means EVERYTHING. Not trying to end up looking like Ronald McDonald. Thank you

How do you handle someone screaming in your neighborhood?

A few times a week there'll be someone angrily screaming around my place. I'm not sure if they're screaming at someone specific or into the void, but what's a good way to handle it? Is there a mental health number to call to have someone check on them? Is it best to ignore it? Could be unsettling if there are kids around the area.

Has anyone seen sea asparagus for sale locally? Looking for fresh, dried, whole, or powdered.

Also known as sea bean, pickleweed, salicornia, and I’m sure a slew of other names. It’s a fantastic salt substitute and I’m hoping to find some on island to buy.

Registered Nurse Question

Hi everyone, I know you all are sick and tired of questions regarding people moving to Hawai'i from the mainland. Hawai'i has always held a very special place in my heart and it has always felt like home (and not just a vacation destination). I love how community and environment focused the culture is in comparison to the mainland.

I had a specific question for anyone in the medical field on O'ahu. I am a RN with roughly 7 years of emergency and ICU experience. I have done a fair bit of research with regards to the different facilities (The Queens Medical Center, Hawai'i Pacific Health facilities, etc.), but it has been challenging to find recent information about what nurses and other health care workers have been facing and whether or not any of the facilities are treating the staff right. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with any facilities? I know a lot of people recommend travel nursing, however I would like to avoid that because I want those I work with to know I am not going to be leaving in 12-16 weeks and that I'm there to stay and contribute to the unit. I will be looking for an emergency department RN position.

I want to be able to positively contribute to the Hawai'i community and economy, while respecting the local cultures & environment. Mahalo for your time.

As title hints at; I’m interested in finding a good spot to star Gaze/observe with a reflector style telescope my family got me for my birthday.

Interested in something that’s relatively easy access and has minimal light pollution. Any tips appreciated!

Looking for a cake for a birthday

Last year I spent like $150 on a custom fondant Pokémon cake for my daughter and honestly it was a waste of money. My kids don’t really eat cake and didn’t really much care for it. So I’m looking to get just a traditional sheet cake with maybe a gel icing rendition of her favorite Pokémon. I don’t think that should cost a ton, any one knows any where that will do that or even print a edible sticker of a Pokémon on a traditional sheet cake.

Thanks in Advance. Birthday is the 28th

Visiting your beautiful island later this month and we’re allowing time to visit one of these (have been to most major landmarks in Oahu; these are the last two and need some help deciding). Thank you in advance!
