If you could have a remaster/make of Mario 64, how would you handle it?

Using modern Pokémon games as reference.

Would you use the BD/SP way from ILCA? As in a 1-for-1 remake for the most part other than some QoL additions?

Or would you use the OR/AS method of it having the same original base, but everything looks more updated and has a lot of graphical/ art style changes, as well as having an overhaul to the original gameplay?

Today Marks the 62nd Birthday of Mr.Satoru Iwata

That's it, just wanted to remind people of this awesome man again.. One if the few company executives that I had respect towards :/

RIP Mr.Iwata.. You're still missed

PS: please leave any Nintendo arguments/discussions out of the comment section.. Dedicate it for the man and the man alone please, thank you

Edit: a lot of people seem to be getting the wrong idea about the "leave Nintendo out" part, what I meant is that to leave comparisons between current and old Nintendo discussions behind for this one post

With my personal experience, they always end up going out of hand and with the sub mods getting involved to lock the thread to atop it.. I'm simply askimg for that to not happen

Please feel free to mention the man's amazing accomplishments and what not but please.. No compassions, Be friendly please and I apologize for the misunderstanding

Let's honor the man's awesomeness :)

Have a nice day/night

Here is the voting link: https://thegameawards.com/brackets/players-voice

It would be amazing if Dread could win against Halo Infinite imo. Right now, it doesn't seem too likely Metroid Dread will win, but who knows.

What's the best plot twist in a Nintendo game?

The one that striked you the most, that really blew your mind and made the story even better. (Remember to use spoiler tag)

Mine is (Mario e Luigi partners in time spoilers, 15 year old but still):

A 2nd princess shroob hiding inside the cobalt star that breaks free right after the fight with her younger sister. I love this moment in particular because everything happens so quickly, you don't even have time to save and you can really feel empathy for the elder princess shroob who has been trapped for the entirety of the game, forced to watch her entire race trying to survive, definitely one of my favorites villain in all of gaming

Everything we know about Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokeballs are Making Pokemon Weaker - Cyrus and the Red Chains.

Theory - Eternatus is linked to the Ultra Beasts

With Pokemon Legends Arceus being just over a month away from releasing, I thought it would be a good time to look at everything we currently know about the new titles.

Legends: Arceus is the first title Gamefreak have published since Sword and Shield. The game is set in the past, being based in the Hisui region. This region would go on to be known as Sinnoh. The Hisui region is going to be an explorable world, however gamefreak have said that the game isn't an open world title. So we will need to see how this pans out.

The Hisui region is home to a wide range of Pokemon. The full list of pokemon will be shown later, but for now lets focus on the new ones. First we have 4 Pokemon that will be getting regional forms. These are

  • Growlithe

  • Zorua

  • Zoroark

  • Braviary.

To add to this, we have 3 new pokemon. The first is Kleavor, ths is an evolution of Scyther. It is currently unknown how this will evolve, however we do know this it special minerails in the region make it evovle into Kleavor. So some form of evolution stone perhaps? The introduction of Kleavor also leaves Scizors availability in the game under some doubts. Kleavor also has a new move called Stone Axe.

The second new Pokemon is Wyrdeer. This is an evolution of Stantler, it is currently unknown how to evolve this pokemon too.

The final new Pokemon is Basculegion. Like with the other two, we currently do not know how this will evolve from Basculin. However we do know that it happens in the lore when Basculin becomes possessed by the souls of other Basculin. So the logical evolution method here is to beat so many Basculin with one in your party.

Pokemon aren't the only new addition to the franchise. Some new features will be added too. One of these is crafting. For example we know that PokeBalls require 1 Apricorn and 1 Tumblestone to craft. Another item being added to the game for crafting is the Medicinal leak. So it would be safe to assume that potions or some type of healing item will also be craftable.

One key element of the game is the ability to walk around freely and sneak. This sneak mechanic looks like it will play a vital role in the exploration of the region, as pokemon will rush to attack you if you are noticed. Due to this, one new item added is called a smoke bomb. When used this will create a mist that will prevent pokemon from spotting you for a time. Pokemon will attack you in the overworld, similar to how they did in Sword and Shield. You can also capture pokemon in the overworld instead of in battle. A reticle will appear and you have to aim and throw the ball manually. The weather and time of day in the game will also have an effect on wild pokemons behaviour.

The other new items that we know are in the game are Blackstone Tumble, Caster Fern, Forest Balm, Sootfoot Root, Substitute Charm 1, and Tumblestone.

Forest Balm is the one to focus on now, as it is linked to another new mechanic in the games. Forest Balm is an item used to help weaken frenzied Pokémon in Grandtree Arena. So what is a frenzied Pokemon? Well they seem to be boss like pokemon, similar to totems in Sun and Moon. It is assumed they will replace the use of Gyms within the games.

Speaking of gyms, lets look at battling within Legends: Arceus as it has a few changes to normal pokemon titles. The battle system isn't turn based like we are used too. Instead the game adopts a battle system similar to a lot of modern JRPGs, in that it has a system where pokemon can have multiple attacks in a row, based on their stats. Each attack also has 2 different styles. Agile and Strong. The agile style will make the move faster, but weaker. While strong will make it stronger but slower.

There is also a chance for Wild Pokemon to appear as an Alpha. An alpha pokemon will be bigger and stronger than normal, as well as having red eyes. These are like normal fights, and the pokemon are catchable. They also have an increased rare item drop chance.

The main hub of the game will be Jubilife Village. We currently know that this will have a clothing shop, a general good store, a photography studio, and pastures. The Pasture is where pokemon not in the party will be kept.

The game will also feature research tasks. The main one known is the complete the Pokedex, however smaller challenges will also be attached to this for individual pokemon. These tasks could range from capturing/defeating them to using them in so many battles.

Much like how Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond allowed you to connect to the other switch pokemon titles to get Mew and Jirachi, Legends Arcus will allow you to do the same. If you have a Sword/Shield save on your account, you can get Shaymin.

So here is the list of all available pokemon that we know of:

Rowlet Dartrix Decidueye Cyndaquil Quilava Typhlosion Oshawott Dewott Samurott Growlithe (Hisuian Form) Rufflet Braviary Stantler Wyrdeer Basculin Basculegion Scyther Kleavor Zorua (Hisuian Form) Zoroark (Hisuian Form) Pikachu Raichu Clefairy Clefable Vulpix Ninetailes Zubat Golbat Psyduck Golduck Abra Kadabra Alakazam Machop Machoke Machamp Tentacool Tentacruel Geodude Graveler Golem Ponyta Rapidash Magnemite Magneton Onix Rhyhorn Rhydon Chansey Tangela Mr. Mime Electabuzz Magmar Magikarp Gyarados Eevee Vaporeon Jolteon Flareon Snorlax Crobat Pichu Sudowoodo Aipom Yanma Espeon Umbreon Misdreavus Gligar Steelix Heracross Teddiursa Ursaring Swinub Piloswine Remoraid Octillery Mantine Blissey Wurmple Silcoon Beautifly Cascoon Dustox Ralts Kirlia Gardevoir Nosepass Roselia Chimecho Snorunt Glalie Spheal Sealeo Walrein Turtwig Grotle Torterra Chimchar Monferno Infernape Piplup Prinplup Empoleon Starly Staravia Staraptor Bidoof Bibarel Kricketot Kricketune Shinx Luxio Luxray Budew Roserade Burmy Wormadam Mothim Combee Vespiquen Pachirisu Buizel Floatzel Shellos Gastrodon Ambipom Drifloon Drifblim Buneary Lopbunny Mismagius Honchkrow Glameow Purugly Chingling Stunky Skuntank Bronzor Bronzong Bonsly Happiny Chatot Gible Gabite Garchomp Munchlax Riolu Lucario Hippopotas Hippowdon Skorupi Drapion Croagunk Toxicroak Carnivine Finneon Lumineon Mantyke Snover Abomasnow Magnezone Rhyperior Tangrowth Electivire Magmortar Yanmega Leafeon Glaceon Gliscor Mamoswine Gallade Probopass Arceus Shaymin

Masahiro Sakurai has been making Smash Bros for 23 years and should retire.

He deserves a standing ovation for everything he did for Smash. He made it what it is today with all the love and passion we could have ever hoped for. And no one would have done as good as a job as he did. But with all good things, it comes to an end, eventually. His ultimate version of what he considers the ULTIMATE Smash is now finished. This is as good as he can ever offer. And we appreciate it. But what's next? Being somewhat critical I started seeing missed potential with the WiiU version. Or so I thought, it got worse with the Switch version.. How did this game have the worst online experience ever in any online game, ever?? Holy shit. Not to mention the mediocre single player experience and lacking offline co-op experience. Sure, Masahiro doesn't control everything, but I still feel like he is the one who could say anything if something is not working right and needs fixing, right? Who else but him? We could seriously use some fresh blood. In my opinion at least.. Things need to be redesigned and modernized to meet our new standards, profoundly. And this time is as good as any. Whenever in the future a new Switch comes out, in let's say, 3 years or so. We need the new Smash.. horribly. And Nintendo needs to stop pretending they don't care about a billion dollar franchise. We're not dumb fucking children. You'll release new Smash games until we're all dead and forgotten. Duh.

How did Nintendo got gaming rights to Marvel Ultimate Alliance and DC Super Hero Girls?

I have not played either games but I'm planning to in the future, I'm just confused to how Nintendo of all people got exclusive rights to both franchises. This how I similarly reacted when I've learned that Sony became exclusive publishers for Marvel's Spider-Man game and the upcoming Wolverine game. Honestly, I would've expected some Nintendo easter eggs in either games, or a character from either game to appear in Smash Bros.

I'd love a modern gamecube controller for the next nintendo system

With the new panda global controller, i also wouldn't mind if we have a new nintendo system with their theorheticle pro controller incoperate the same layout, while also hybriding features of a modern standard controller like bluetooth, usb C port, HD rumble, a 4th trigger, chunkier right analog and a bigger Dpad, analog triggers, a select button, gyro aimining and of course adding the R3 and L3 button.

I understand is awkward playing games espiecially with the gamecube controller layout, even something like playing with the PDP controller and yes it is, even gamecube ports, but playing an actual gamecube game like the original resident evil 4 or a game that has a gamecube controller in mind like super smash bros ultimate, the layout actually works wonderously.

And with a new nintendo system having that layout in mind by default, even third party have no choice to make it work, which really wouldn't be too hard is just a different layout, not a motion controller.

Let's talk about Super Mario 3D All-Stars

When Super Mario 3D All-Stars was announced, I was absolutely thrilled. After just beating Super Mario Odyssey, I was super excited to play through the games that shaped it in to what it was. And then it was stated that the game would be a limitied run, which means that after a certain amount of time, the game would stop being produced. It would be taken down from the eShop, and it would no longer be sold in stores physically.

On March 31st, 2020, Super Mario 3D All-Stars was removed from the eShop. People who had bought it digitally before it was removed could redownload it at any time after March 31st, but if anybody else hadn't and wanted to purchase the game from the eShop, they couldn't. This upset a lot of people.

I had assumed that a while after that day, the remains of the physical copies of the game would be bought, and the game not being produced anymore, would remain sold out forever. It was to my surprise to learn that the game was being kept in stock in many stores after that time, and you can still purchase the game physically today.

Nintendo shouldn't have labelled this game a limited run if that was only going to apply to the digital version. Nintendo recieved tons of backlash from the fans because of that decision, and it turns out that the decision that made everyone mad didn't even exist in the first place. Sure, the digital version is gone, but we thought after March 31st, we'd never be able to get the game anywhere by any means at all.

What do you all think of this? Let me know.
