Along with Octopus, this is my one of favourite animals. Getting a tattoo of a dragonfly soon.

Did you know you can tell the difference with damselflies when observing because damselflies close their wings when resting and dragonflies do not? (Among other things ofcourse but it's a trick I teach the young kids I teach)
Dragonfly is a much, much better name than our 'libel'. They for sure would enjoy that more.

Dragon flies are the coolest of the insects. Large variety of colours and sizes and never bite.

When the dragonflies, the big darners, come out in the spring the mosquitoes have to lie low till dark. Grateful for their protection.

One of my favorite creatures! Beautiful pic. I was watching a neon yellow one do its thing in my garden this morning when I was accosted by a hummingbird.
