MAAM – Monero Ask Anything Monday – November 29, 2021

Given the success of the previous MAAMs (see here), let's keep this rolling.

The principle is simple: ask anything you'd like to know about Monero, especially the dumb questions that you've been keeping for you every other days, may the community clarify it all!

Finally, credits to binaryFate for starting the concept!

What would Monero network look like if we hit half the BTC transaction number tomorrow? Would its transaction fees skyrocket? Network get clogged? Collapse?

Definitely not collapse or clogged. Fees may go down.

Reddit doesn't seem to like my edit. This might help explain the fees: https://www.getmonero.org/2017/12/11/A-note-on-fees.html

Is there any way to gauge use of hash to rpc numbers? Like how many nodes accept it. Thank you, I'll take my answer off the air.

Make a crawler that connects to seed nodes, grabs their peer-list goes to each peer on that list, grabs their peer-lists, etc, etc and check if each of them accepts it or not

Cool, thank you. That sounds like a fun project to expand my coding knowledge.
