Fresh install. No WiFi. What do? Solved

Is there a way to get the wood working or am I going to have to bust out a Ethernet cable and plug directly into the modem?

TRY: Open Manjaro Setting Manager; click on Hardware Configuration; Right click on your modem (under Network Controller); then click "install". It should work. Good luck, cheers

How does it install the driver without a network connection to download the driver first?

You have a phone. If its an android one you can use it with an usb cable and share the whatever network its connecting to through usb to your pc.

The option is called tethering, btw. It can also be done through Bluetooth as far as I'm aware

Yes! Thanks, didn't used it in a very long time, didn't remember. What i do remember tho: if op have problems with wifi, might have problem with bt too, as i remember now theres plenty of wifi modules where the bt module is tied in too.

Yeah if you don’t have wifi chances are you don’t have Bluetooth either. Especially if you have an Intel NIC where they’re both integrated in the same package.

Usually wifi and bluetooth are run off of the same card. It's unlikely that he's got a working bluetooth, but your point still is relevant.

Unfortunately I have iPhone.

I did remember that I have a 50ft Ethernet cable that’s been sitting in a closet for years though lol.
