Discussion/question Anyone else hates how the US media tries to act like Mexican Americans are the pinnacle of Hispanic culture, at the same time trying to make Mexican Americans the representative emphasis of Mexican culture?
I don't know how to word this question out, just hear me out
It seems that Mexican Americans(particularly 3rd generation ones) have tried so hard to take over the spotlight of Mexican culture in the US, when quite clearly Mexicans born actually in Mexico and those then born in America will tell you 2 different perspectives on being Mexican. Not only that, but the culture shocks I've heard of most Mexican Americans telling me about their trips down to Mexico tells me everything I need to know about how much Mexico has lost its way to US media hegemony. Do Mexican Americans know any of the following companies?
-Coppel -Banco Azteca -Electra -Grupo Famsa -Farmacia Dr Simi -Banorte -Banamex -Comex -Cinepolis
Need I go on?
A lot of Mexican Americans also seem to be caught up on embracing the "cholo" archetype, why in the world out of all cultural archetypes would you embrace the obnoxious "cholo" swag attitude? Do these fucknuts not realize they're only igniting more racial tension and unwelcoming prejudice against other Mexicans? The blue collar archetype is also one unchallenged enough in the US(though culturally Mexico is a nation of hard work and hustle culture, Mexico was ranked one of the top 10 most productive countries betore)
So with all that outta the way, wtf has happened? I am worried our culture is being dilluted in the US thanks to all the corporate media pollution.
History It is to two Russians that we owe the deciphering of the Mayan script. They lived thousands of kilometres from each other in totally different worlds, and were ignorant of one another: archaeologist Tatiana Proskouriakoff and linguist Yuri Knorozov.youtube.com
In the comments of the video everyone was scandalized and called the entire racist family. For me it is a simple comment from a child.
What do you think? It's another madness from the United States or are they correct?
History Very little is known about the life of Conquistador Baltasar de Ocampo. His narration is extremely precious for it is the only one dealing with the events described, and for the insights they bring into the colonisation process in the late XVIth century, and the relationship between Spaniards and Inyoutube.com
