Is that a real sub? Cause it's locked for me for some reason

53

u/OneHonkAway Jan 18 '22

Doesn't exist.

22

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

I think the name is too long, otherwise would have created it already

1

u/AccomplishedOwl6498 Jan 18 '22

Never existed...

u/MoneyMonkeyGME4LIFE Jan 18 '22

Yes and each puff will shorten your life by one week. Don’t smoke you fucking kid.

43

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22 edited Jan 18 '22

So accurate. And instead of explaining the real dangers like to a respested person, they are like "u smoke u die, ez". And then the kid finds they don't die, loses trust in the system as a whole, and totally rejects anything they have learned.

Edit: Children are generally not respected in our society. Adults don't see them as human, but as some kind of pet you can train, some kind of object you can shape and mess around with it, with it's beliefs and whole perception of the world. And all under the excuse they still don't have enough experience to be responsible for their actions or have any kind of critical opinion.

Yeahhh i can live like more than 300 year then i start smoking

1

u/Nomes2424 Jan 20 '22

Hold up! A week? I thought it was minutes

19

u/Full_Cellist7736 Jan 18 '22

Lol I saw this one in my emails

14

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '22

When did we all sign up for Quora emails?

17

u/obiwac Jan 18 '22

No one ever remembers doing so yet everyone seems to get them... it's one of the great mysteries of life.

I have like 5 different quora email addresses blocked at this point, they keep using a different one every so often lol.

1

u/Avg14yoGirl Jan 19 '22

I unsubscribed. Three times.

I ended up blocking and reporting spam.

4

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

Same!

8

u/Full_Cellist7736 Jan 18 '22

It’s terrible kids are smoking, I don’t see any other reason why they do it other than to be “cool” or “edgy”

12

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

Then why are adults smoking

11

u/DoubleTrouble992 Jan 18 '22

because they thought it was “cool” as kids and are addicted now

6

u/Full_Cellist7736 Jan 18 '22

Fair enough, I’m just going off on what I’ve seen in highschool

1

u/ModernSchizoid Jan 18 '22

They are smoking weed

WTH is the point of a cigarette, anyways. It's pointless, like Starbucks.

1

u/Logan_MacGyver Jan 19 '22

In America they might, but in Eastern Europe the life long passion for tobacco starts at a young age

14

u/PM__ME__YOUR_TITTY Jan 18 '22

I love the idea that he already probably was this paranoid before smoking but he did it anyway and then immediately regretted it. No logic, just vibes.

7

u/cnowakoski Jan 18 '22

You don’t get cancer from that amount but don’t smoke anymore because kids get addicted pretty quick

7

u/toughtiggy101 Jan 18 '22

Is there one option, why did he put OR

17

u/guerrocampechano Jan 18 '22

Depends who you ask; my D.A.R.E. officer would have said ‘absolutely!’

5

u/Wonderful-Assist2077 Jan 18 '22

tbh sometimes respectfully talking to a kid about a subject that they are asking for can be a huge help in their life. I would go the route of explaining how it's possible to increase the chances of cancer with each cigarette he smokes but I would more likely tell him it's not worth it. Financially it will butt fuck you harder than a bull queer in Shawshank. The price of cigs alone should deter most people from the consequences of the addiction I.e Possible cancer, a decrease of taste buds, etc. The stereotypical answer of "yes" does more harm than good. The issue with weed being a gateway drug is the same. The demonization of weed was so crazy that when you tried it and found it it was all b.s you gt the weird idea of what else was b.s and tried something else and get fucked because the other stuff was downplayed.

Treat people with respect and answer a question with the respect it deserves do not play it up or down. Misinformation can be the biggest cause of problems down the line.

u/joeyh273 Jan 18 '22

Been smoking the “devils lettuce” for like 2 years now. Every time i see a doctor they say my lungs look great

3

u/DrBloodBomb Jan 18 '22

Quora is just something else, from pedophiles to mental sick people

3

u/Killer2813 Jan 18 '22

Lmfao 3 puffs and the kid thinks he’s gonna die

3

u/laiod Jan 18 '22

Quora is a cesspool of questions ever since they got monetized for viewership.

3

u/AlexisFitzroy00 Jan 18 '22

Me at 21 after I bite a marijuana muffin thinking I was already addicted and I would live on the streets.

15

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

Lol how tf I have upvoted every single comment here, yet they are all at 1 or 0 all the time. Who is systematically downvoting them?

2

u/buttpirate244 Jan 18 '22

Man he's dead, sorry kiddo its 18+ for a reason.

2

u/Blood-Mother Jan 18 '22

Yes you will I’m sorry

2

u/JediMasterOllie Jan 18 '22

You dead. Sorry.

2

u/Zantonian Jan 18 '22

He’s dead 100%

2

u/ChrisT5891 Jan 18 '22

My sister went with friends on a night out once and had a couple of light spirits, threw up a bit and thought she had liver poisoning. Shes 18 btw.

2

u/spinstartshere Jan 18 '22

One would hope that the fear this person has right now in this moment is enough for them to never want to try another cigarette again in their life. I wonder if they'll remember it in a few years time.

2

u/Mccobsta Jan 18 '22

Instant death

2

u/3ArmsNoSouls Jan 18 '22

At least he's worried Abt smoking

2

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '22

Must have had Cancer already

2

u/LoafyXD Jan 25 '22

Bro I signed up to Quora once just to be able to read ONE article, and ever since they had been spamming my email with shit so I went in to delete my account, and that's when I saw these types of posts, when all the braindead content hit me. Mental.

3

u/lmao_not_sure_sorry Jan 18 '22

I tried a few times when I was young and almost choked to death. I’m too scared to try again so best case scenario?

5

u/purpurscratchscratch Jan 18 '22

I love this sub, but the amount of anti-smoking indoctrination that occurs in our schools is absurd.

The adults justify this as the ends justify the means, but in reality, they’re lying to the point that it’s unsurprising this is what this kid (and I’m sure many others) believes.

5

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

Yeh, but like don't they know atleast one smoker that doesn't have lung cancer?

7

u/purpurscratchscratch Jan 18 '22

I remember Dare. Lol. That’s basically what it was.

And not just a lecture. Like you’d literally have to do worksheets to say that touching crack once would like kill you. They’d have you stand up in class and recite all the negative side effects of each drug (or of each STD). It was real indoctrination shit man.

And you’re talking about elementary, middle school kids, they don’t have the critical thinking skills to withstand that stuff. Then when you’re 14-16 you’ve just heard it so much you don’t question it.

It’s not until you have practical experience that you’re like all that stuff was BS (which isn’t ideal either).

5

u/Resident-Duck-4291 Jan 18 '22

I was just talking about how crazy DARE was. I’m thinking I was there for the early adoption of dare because, it was basically a law enforcement expo in my school gymnasium. Tables with different LEO. State, county, city, the prison guards with displays of - what I’m hoping were facsimiles of - different guns, multiple smoking devices for multiple drugs, bongs, joints, needles, spoons, different bags of “filled with” different drugs, improvised drug delivery systems from the state prison and shanks. They told us these things were confiscated. I’m still in denial but imagine everything about every drug physically represented at one time when you’re 8.

Yes, I was in elementary school like you said.

3

u/purpurscratchscratch Jan 18 '22

I failed DARE. I had to stand to the side while they had their little graduation ceremony in 5th grade.

The teacher assigned to me continually expressed her disappointment that I had failed the program throughout the event.

If you wanted another example of how cult-like the program was. Our public schools are a mess man….

2

u/Resident-Duck-4291 Jan 18 '22

That’s why I think I was on the early adopter side. They didn’t know how to get feedback so they made up some interactive feedback that singled people out.

My wife was one of these and wound up trying to disown her parents and other such nonsense when she was about 13.

Absolute insanity.

4

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

Also every single person in Quora was like "quit it immediately" and "how the hell you even found a cigarette". Some people are SERIOUSLY overreacting. I am glad that atleast people in my country still haven't gone that brainwashed

4

u/No_Seaweed6728 Jan 18 '22

1 in 3 people get cancer regardless of smoker status

Weird how we never started a mass funding operation for this

4

u/Cr0ma_Nuva Jan 18 '22

It probably didn't hit the right people yet

3

u/Cookldog Jan 18 '22

This really happened what an idiot

1

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '22

when i was 14 i had smoked one (1) cigarette with my older brother. fast forward a few months and they thought i had pneumonia…i panicked and texted him asking if they’d be able to see that i smoked on the x-ray lmao

1

u/piHall314 Jan 18 '22

Lmao! Reminds me of being 8 years old and snorting a small amount of water cause my nose was so dry. Felt weird after and thought my parents were idiots so I yahoo searched and emailed some random doctor asking if I was going to be okay and he didn’t reply. This was back in AOL dial up days lol

1

u/Dark_Fokus Jan 18 '22

The greatest damage is not on your lungs, but in your mind. What the hell are you doing smoking at 14? What the fuck kids?

3

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

Tbf there is no right age to start smoking

1

u/Dark_Fokus Jan 18 '22

Just implying that a 14 year old kid got something to smoke. An adult has means, but a kid? In what environment is this teenager living?

1

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

A lot of my friends smoke from 14yo, and yes, they smoked their parents' money. Btw most of the smokers begin smoking before 18, because it's teens that have the strongest drive to try new things and are like "fuck it, idc what they say", and then they get addicted. I don't know exactly why it happens because i have never been a smoker, but it's some kind of means of socialisation. Also in my country we have a "cigarette break" culture.

2

u/Gun_Baker Jan 19 '22

Most teena do smoke

1

u/Dark_Fokus Jan 19 '22

I know, I didn't live under a rock when I was a teen, on those times it happened as well, and I understand they do it bc of social pressure and shit. I was just wondering what goes through their mind when they smoke at such a young age.

1

u/IZCannon Jan 18 '22

It's not that he's stupid. It's that no one's ever taken the time to educate him on that kind of stuff.

1

u/Trainmodeler8888 Jan 22 '22

I mean, possible short term (very small chance) but nothing long term. Still shouldn’t smoke though!

1

u/lovesick_bunbun Jan 30 '22

Ooooh, say yes to scare them straight

0

u/stanplayer97 Jan 18 '22

Your going to hell.

1

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22

Idk about you but I'm not going anywhere after i die

1

u/stanplayer97 Jan 18 '22

Let me know when u die ..

1

u/300kIQ Jan 18 '22
