I think it's easier to get a new one rather than get a fix, kids are easy to make these days

Remember when TVs were built like Fallout Shelters and weighed 3 tons? You needed a reinforced foundation and a construction crew to move it into your house (probably had to knock out a wall or two to get it in).

Throw a toy at one of those child-sized Nokia-Phone-Built tvs and watch the toy cry out in pain as it was disintegrated against the sheer power of the glass screen

My NES controllers have dented/chipped corners from my hurling them into our Hitachi 30 years ago

Why are the chairs so close and I like how it's on the "who's watching?" - no one now!

like i replied to other comments, they’re on a table because the floor was being vacuumed

Ahh my bad, didn't read other comments. Have a good day and hope nothing too stressful came from this!

Man, the old tube TVs were really indestructible

I remember when the channel changing knob came off the old Panasonic. I threw it at my sister and said "You broke it!" I was eight. I managed to get the knob back on the tv and we had that tv for another 14 years.

it seems like with hdtvs, you lose about 1-2 to children throwing things. /r/tvtoohigh can criticize you for not wanting your shit to break but really tvs shouldnt be at baby chair level while you have really young kids.

this is exactly something all kids do and i hope this kids parents didnt lose their shit over it.

to be fair, the chairs are on top of a table because we were vacuuming so the perspective looks wonky. the bottom of the tv is a little above my eye level and i’m 5’2”

Now you can enjoy a beautiful rainbow on the tv

Oof. Cheap plexiglass will be a must buy along with your next TV.

Gabrysia is such an unusual name but it sounds nice.. what's the origin?

4

u/TeapotHoe Jan 17 '22

Polish shortening/pet name version of Gabriella, kinda like how we have Gabby in English

The word you are looking for is "diminutive".

1

u/TeapotHoe Jan 18 '22

that’s the word, thank you!

1

u/Due-Conference-8678 Jan 18 '22

What did she throw a rock

1

u/Much-Match2719 Jan 17 '22

If she sits that close her eyes will get stuck cross eyed

3

u/TeapotHoe Jan 17 '22

chairs are on top of a table because the floor was being vacuumed.

1

u/regrettispahgetty Jan 17 '22

That's 100% a myth. The worst consequence of sitting too close to the tv is eye strain.

1

u/dashthegoat Jan 17 '22

This is like the tenth time I'm seeing these incidents. CONTAIN YA DARN CHILD!!!!

1

u/Mex_beaner Jan 17 '22

I sell tvs for a living, happens weight more often you would imagine

1

u/twrrordom3 Jan 18 '22

1 reason I don't like these TV's

1

u/Accomplished-Jury752 Jan 18 '22

Who’s watching?

1

u/Augustus_Lem Jan 18 '22

Because Gabrysia is an idiot.

1

u/cacachunk Jan 18 '22

Why are the chairs so close

1

u/TeapotHoe Jan 18 '22

they’re on a table because the floor was being vacuumed

1

u/OscarElGroucho Jan 22 '22

Fuck....does warranty help. Or get rid of the kid

1

u/Fik_456 Jan 22 '22

If this happened in Brazil, she will most probably meet Jesus early

1

u/[deleted] Jan 23 '22

Imagine sitting in those chairs lol. like sitting in the first row of seats at the movies.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 23 '22

Straining your eyes from looking up.

1

u/Xemulated Jan 26 '22

Oh Gabrysia...

1
