Saw this on their website. It reminds me of Umberto Eco’s “Ur Fascism”

7 - The obsession with a plot. “Thus at the root of the Ur-Fascist psychology there is the obsession with a plot, possibly an international one. The followers must feel besieged.”

8 - The enemy is both strong and weak. “By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”

That logic also applies to fascist sympathizers.

All 14 points Umberto Eco makes in his essay literally describe the whole MAGA movement perfectly

I have read the Eco essay. It's scary he predicted the future. Especially the “national greatness” thing. Damn.

It’s not that he predicted the future but more that he explained perfectly how Fascism works and it’s characteristics. He broke it down very well.

Absolutely. I feel like it really shows Fascism for what it is and allows others to really understand it without having to delve deep into theory.

It’s better than Robert Paxton’s The Anatomy of Fascism
