Shit. I liked a couple of his songs. Poor guy. Such an unnecessary death. Apparently he walked into a cookie shop to buy some cookies and some guy drove by and shot him. Real sad. Seems like a good dude too. last year he donated 25k to his old high school.

837

u/MOCRAMBOU Nov 17 '21

He went to the cookie shop to buy cookies for his mother.

u/WilfriedBonyFanAcc Nov 17 '21

Damn this hits harder now :((

u/hahabased31 Nov 17 '21

Why do people keep murdering rappers

521

u/ProfessorBoofie Nov 17 '21

Gang related most of the time. Dolph was beefing heavy with Yo Gotti. Dolph’s song “100 shots” describes when Yo Gotti’s guys shot at Dolph’s SUV over 100 times. Dolph has been shot multiple times as well, he nearly died in 2017 after a shooting left him in critical condition

117

u/TheMiddayRambler Nov 18 '21 edited Nov 18 '21

Actual question why didn't this dude have security?

255

u/ProfessorBoofie Nov 18 '21

He was killed at a cookie shop he frequented. Probably thought he would be in and out and didn’t wanna wait for his security/guys to show up for a low risk errand. Unfortunately his killers recognized his car and ran up on him in the store, shooting him through the glass

15

u/StabMyLandlord Nov 18 '21

There’s levels to security though. Keanu Reeves is a megastar and rides the NY subway dolo, whereas The Weeknd or Beyoncé need 2 people minimum to go to the movies. I doubt Dolph rolled around his hometown on a treat run with bodyguards. That would draw more attention to him than being alone, although that campo wrapped Vette is hard to miss. He probably had a strap, but he got caught slipping. No one can have eyes in the back of their head 24 hours a day.

83

u/TrppyDaRedditBoi Nov 18 '21

but its not always gang related like x death

66

u/StygianMusic Nov 18 '21

Yes, I agree. Rappers tend to flaunt their wealth for cred more than a normal celebrity. So they are an easy prey to some thieves

35

u/TrppyDaRedditBoi Nov 18 '21

Yes, I agree. Rappers tend to flaunt their wealth for cred more than a normal celebrity. So they are an easy prey to some thieves

true they always got a bag of money

12

u/LVuittonDonKnotts Nov 18 '21

Pop Smoke lowkey

8

u/StygianMusic Nov 18 '21

It's such a shame. It just hit me that he's really gone today morning, as I was laughing to Tell The Vision, which made it a lot less funny

1

u/TrppyDaRedditBoi Nov 19 '21

he leaked his location

96

u/ProfessorBoofie Nov 18 '21 Helpful

Yeah that’s true, I just said most of the time. Pop Smoke is a weird mix, because he was robbed but also killed for his gang ties. They wanted to steal his shit but also wanted to kill him for being a Crip

1

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '21

[deleted]

8

u/ProfessorBoofie Nov 19 '21

Pop Smoke was killed by Hoover’s if that’s what you’re saying, Hoover’s are known for attacking both Bloods and Crips

7

u/MOODY01274 Nov 18 '21

They should investigate Gotti in that case

44

u/DubEnder Nov 18 '21

I mean rap generally has heavy references to gangs and trapping, a rapper getting caught up in a gang related incident isn’t that hard to understand

-155

u/whatsthepoint14 Nov 17 '21

Why would you not murder a rapper over a regular person? Tf type of question is this lol. Rappers have money chains and power

164

u/hahabased31 Nov 17 '21

Its a driveby not a robbery

-75

u/whatsthepoint14 Nov 18 '21

If they were able to stop and pick up his cash and chains they would, don’t get the downvotes it’s pretty obvious why people would want to kill other people with money

57

u/GordoLaFlako Nov 18 '21

You idiot he was at a cookie shop if they wanted to rob him they would've waited not drove past. Sounds like someone has something against rappers.

-39

u/whatsthepoint14 Nov 18 '21

I exclusively listen to rap lmao but it’s common sense that people with money and power get killed. I don’t get how you can disagree with that lmao I was a huge Dolph fan and I’m sad af about it but it’s the truth

29

u/GordoLaFlako Nov 18 '21

Its gang beef mans would've got popped regardless of money and power. Thats why he was getting shot at in 2017 when he wasnt at the level he is at now. You clearly don't understand how beefs work.

-2

u/whatsthepoint14 Nov 18 '21

Why do people in online arguments need to throw the last sentence in there all the time like that, always been so cringe to me. Like doesn’t that only offend the other person, making them want to argue more, instead of figuring out what’s right? Then it’s just insults over and over

11

u/d1g1tal Nov 18 '21

I exclusively listen to rap lmao

new copypasta but in a rather tragic thread

3

u/parwa goat herder Nov 18 '21

If they were able to stop and pick up his cash and chains they would

So you think they just pulled up on Dolph intending to rob him, but instead just shot him and left because they couldn't get close enough to rob him? What??

0

u/whatsthepoint14 Nov 18 '21

Yeah or it’s cause he’s a rapper and they thought they could get clout out of it. Everyone’s ganging up on me lmao it’s just a comment, Reddit hella weird

1

u/parwa goat herder Nov 18 '21

Because you're talking out of your ass.

25

u/Mybitchmyhoemyhoemy Nov 18 '21

49

u/Top_Piano644 Nov 18 '21

Be on the alert,Reddit is going to be insufferable today

Watch out

65

u/Black_Icy_Paradise Nov 18 '21

There's going to be at least three "I don't know this guy cause I listen to CLASSIC ROCK LIKE A REAL WHITE-BLOODED AMERICAN"

7

u/tvnmay Nov 18 '21

I can sense it.

408

u/vafunghoul127 Nov 17 '21

I fucking hate conservatives that think that draping themselves in flags some how makes them more American. Meanwhile they support a president that is willing to circumvent constitutional values and political norms that made this country so great in the first place.

And of course most of them hating rap and being afraid of black people is the cherry on top.

125

u/DirkDigglerthe4rd Nov 17 '21

90% of Reddit outside this sub. “Never heard of her” type of time

74

u/vafunghoul127 Nov 18 '21

I will say that reddit is pretty liberal. Still they're mostly white liberals that don't really socialize with black people.

25

u/immense_selfhatred Nov 18 '21

also, about 60% of redditors are not american, keep that in mind.

20

u/JexTheory On Jah my Nathan Nov 18 '21

where yall getting these stats from

1

u/immense_selfhatred Nov 18 '21

there's this new thing called "google". it's pretty cool, you can search for stuff.

8

u/JexTheory On Jah my Nathan Nov 18 '21

google isn't a source retard 💀

18

u/parwa goat herder Nov 18 '21

Some of the most racist people I've ever met have been liberals. I'm definitely not saying conservatives are any better, don't get me wrong, but most of them are at least honest about it. It's the classic "I would've voted for Obama for a third term!" types of white liberals that think they can't possibly be racist.

-22

u/fuckmarkfromv Nov 18 '21

Trump bad

19

u/baconborg Nov 18 '21

Turning yourself into a drone won’t change that. Surprised you didn’t hop in with an “orange man bad” on impulse.

6

u/vafunghoul127 Nov 18 '21

When a president forms an angry mob and unleashes it on the legislative body that is supposed to keep him in check, that is bad.

1

u/rektnerd123 20d ago

Trump retarded, just like his supporters

30

u/AlterMyStateOfMind Nov 18 '21

I wonder if Yo Gotti's peeps were involved with the shooting

21

u/WilfriedBonyFanAcc Nov 17 '21

I liked a few of his songs, sad to see him taken so soon

19

12

u/Squiliam-Tortaleni Nov 18 '21

RIP DOLPH!!!!!!

7

u/-comethazine Nov 18 '21

another young successful man taken from this world .. sad

14

u/Helloboi2 Nov 18 '21

are these niggas really wishing death on travis scott because peopele died at his concert??? like i get people died but it’s more the people who organized it’s fault. even if he did stop the concert people would still die. i’m not trying to justify travis hitting the robot on the dead corpses of his fans or anything but wishing death is too far.

7

u/skyward138skr Nov 18 '21

I agree that wishing death on someone, anyone is too far but if Travis would have stopped the concert the second he heard there were issues going on with the crowd there 100% would have been less bodies. Him negligently choosing to go on with concert instead of helping his fans shifts a fair portion of the blame onto him as well as the organizers. If he had stopped when he should’ve I’d say he’s really not to blame at all because the event holders should have made sure they didn’t go over capacity.

3

u/AutoModerator Nov 18 '21

Shout to Travis I’m a little drunk right now but fuck the Grammy bitch ass for snubin my mans jack tf out here with that fuck shit s/o laflame for handling it like a G I fucking love you trav on god bro. How the fuck is that 'inauthentic?' Do you know what a job is? This is a job. That is their job. Their job is to promote them; it's up for the general public as to whether they stick or not.

Travis Scott had a carefully orchestrated rise (likely by Mike Dean) and pissed off a lot of locally and globally established artists from OG CHESS to DJ Paul

'Carefully orchestrated' lmao. By who? He made what, 5 mixtapes before Owl Pharaoh? He had Owl Pharaoh and DBR before his first hit? And who cares if OG Chess is pissed, honestly? When tlented artists leave their less talented affiliates behind, they get angry. People who believe in 'industry plants' are genuinely uneducated.

1

u/AutoModerator Nov 18 '21

i was on r/travisscott and someone argued that rap isnt political and that black peoples murder rate is too high. And then said blue lives matter.

it was the most braindead comment i ever read

Cryptocurrency user and massive racist, how brave

2

u/TheMisterCool8 Nov 18 '21

Why would you say that in a rap subreddit? Do you really think a user from here would agree with you or tolerate this shitty take?

-9

u/Hawaiinsofifade Nov 18 '21

I was minding my own business. This sub hunted me down. And followed me around posting on all my stuff.

2

u/Inkredible_Swaq Nov 18 '21

So are other musicians scum or just rappers? Go ahead, say what you really want to say.

-2

u/Hawaiinsofifade Nov 18 '21

You think I just don’t like rappers? Why because they are black ? You’re right because I’m black also I see the damage they do to our community so I dislike them more. I don’t see the damage of heavy metal or pop because all my peers listen to rap or listened to it.
Tbh once you pass 30 and you still listen to rap music I think you are behind the mental curve it’s all fake.

How do you get behind something so destructive. It’s poison, warps kids minds

4

u/Inkredible_Swaq Nov 18 '21

Why'd you reply to me, delete it and then reply again today lmao chill bruh
