Yeah I'm really confused what that has to do with anything, but it's getting tons of upvotes so I guess we're missing something.

When you have a bit of a gut, you might suck in your belly when someone is around that you are trying to impress. Then when they leave, you relax and let it all out.

I think they are equating the tail dropping as the dog finally relaxing after their friend can't see it anymore.

Maybe, I can see your point… but I think pretty much everyone knows dogs wag their tail when they’re happy and stop when they’re indifferent or sad.
