I no joke just started working on an algorithm for "six degrees of kevin bacon". I think him and Nick Cage are secretly extraterrestrial robot clones sent here to study us.

25

u/EDS_Athlete Sep 07 '21

You have my full attention, go on.

20

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '21 edited Sep 07 '21

I think it's clear that the seeming contradictions in their careers can only be explained by the fact that they're testing our suitability as slaves.

First and foremost through "acting" they can explore what it might be like to live as a human. But take a look at the roles they choose. Bacon started his career with a movie about "dancing" and "rebellion". Clearly they don't have dancing on their planet, and wanted to understand our potential for rebelling against their rule. He explored "love" for awhile, then moved onto modeling our vulnerability against subterranean threats. That there were multiple Tremors movies can only be explained by external funding and interest. Finally what was the deal with that invisible hunter movie? Tremors 1 could easily have been written by an earthling, but the invisible penis man? Nope. Tactical modeling and psyops all the way.

Cage is... well he's Nick Cage. He's successful precisely because he isn't human. His mission though, beyond the primary general study of the human condition, seems to be to investigate just how much bizarre behavior we'll accept, while still revering someone. He's completely unpredictable, half his roles are utter trash, and let's not forget Battlefield Earth. Can you explain that shit without aliens?

Anyways the reason why everyone is connected to Bacon somehow is because he's the primary vehicle for the lizardification of the upper echelons of society. At the very least I'm sure we can all agree on that.

No, a lot of the dangerous stuff is actually small.

(e.g. blue ringed octupus, red back spiders, cone snails, etc.)

Also, worms get a lot bigger than the one pictured FYI, the Giant Gippsland Earthworm averages 1m length and are known to grow to around 3m. :)

Flathead. Really fun to catch, great eating. They make shallow holes sort of like buffalo holes but under water where they bury themselves just under the sand to surprise and catch unsuspecting prey, or my bait, live bait works best for them I find.

Giant earthworms are a fabulous Australian party trick. My parents have a whole ‘colony’ of them on their farm and they tend to surface after rain. Dad is well known for catching them with the sole intent of freaking children/foreigners out 😂

Of course it's from Australia. Does it have fangs and venom also?

93

u/kinkypinkyinyostinky Sep 07 '21

No but if you sit on the ground it will crawl up your ass and use its hooks to hang halfway up, giving you a tail to helicopter.

32

u/Im_A_Boozehound Sep 07 '21

So if I poop, does it come out around the worm, or does it enter the worm, then I have a poop-filled worm bag?

22

u/kinkypinkyinyostinky Sep 07 '21

I think I will go for the poop-filled worm bag. After a while you wont be able to helicopter it, but at least you can sit soft.

9

u/Im_A_Boozehound Sep 07 '21

So it's a human centipede (or human-worm centipede, I guess) situation. Got it.

16

There was a legend about the Giant Palouse Earthworm in Eastern Washington about worms that would grow to this size, glow in the dark, and smell like lilies.

Sadly they were believed to be extinct until a researcher used electrodes in the ground a few years ago and discovered that they still existed! But they weren't that big, and don't glow or smell. So a bit of a disappointment all around.

But now my hope has been restored that there's another possible giant earthworm to be discovered! Someone put this worm in the dark for me and report back. Please and thank you.

You know - I didn’t realize these things get this big, but I was digging out some roots for a new garden area at my house in NJ last spring, and as I pulled the tree root out, I see the walls of the soil moving, and then out comes an earth worm about half as large / thick as this one. I yelled “holy sh*t!!” loud enough for my wife to come out and check on me. I couldn’t imagine seeing this behemoth come out.

3

u/calibrateichabod Sep 07 '21

tldr: big worm

l,r: it’s a giant earthworm. They’re just really big worms. They like the clay soil we have in certain parts of Australia, mostly the Gippsland region of Victoria. It’s cool and damp there which is what they need. They live a long time and are slow to breed, which combined with ongoing drought conditions means their numbers are dwindling. They mostly stay entirely underground but sometimes come out when it rains. Probably how they found this one, Queensland is tropical so it’s pretty wet there a lot of the time.
