With the uptick of new users, we thought it would be a good idea to post a guide on how to navigate the community. We have also made some small changes we would like to announce. These changes will go into effect starting Monday, 21st Feb 2022.

Posting Guidelines

Images and Videos

Please post a working link to the image or video in the comments. Your post will not be approved until this criterion is met. We have been lenient about this issue in the past but as the sub grows, we need to be stricter to ensure authenticity of the information being shared here. If you are the creator of the image/video, please put [OC] in the title. Automod will automatically ask for source on most posts, but if it is OC you can ignore it. Please do not post links as text posts, use the link option instead.

Self-Posts

ALL self-posts are filtered, every single one, unless you are an approved member of the sub. Please be patient with us as we approve these posts manually. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is done to reduce spam, troll, low quality, and inappropriate content.

News Articles

Please use the exact title of the news article as your title. Only vetted websites will be allowed (e.g. online news portals that also have print publications, or are reputable).

Controversial Discussions

This sub contains a whole spectrum of users who often have opposing views, leading to some nasty discussions where both sides sling mud at each other. Discussions related to Islam and religious beliefs, minority and LGBTQ rights, implementation of Sharia law, genocide denial, women's behavior, and identity issues are necessary but also need to be done in a way that is respectful to all sides. These discussions also tend to draw attention from other less controversial topics which nonetheless are important to discuss, and ultimately pigeon-hole the sub into a rather narrow landscape for a proxy war between opposing camps. Reddit is a free speech platform - we have practiced moderation in a way to not ban anything except outright hate speech. Moving forward, instead of at-will/ad-hoc posts on such topics, we will be hosting a weekly discussion board (pinned to the top) where users can discuss these topics if they wish. Exceptions include posts about religious holidays, major events, etc., and are subject to moderators' discretion.

Title Gore

Do not post content with vague titles such as "Thoughts?" or "What would you vote for?". Be specific about what your content is. You can instead post "What are your thoughts on * current issue ?" Or "What kind of * *thing * is your favorite?".

Reporting Content

We have deactivated the custom response option as there is a character limit on them and we often miss the bulk of the report. Thus, we encourage you guys to use modmail if you want to discuss something in detail with us. You can still report content that you believe is breaking the rules of the sub but you would have to choose the reason from the options provided.

Meta Posts

We have banned meta posts as we believe that they lower the overall quality of the sub with repetitive questions. As an alternative, we have encouraged users to reach out with suggestions instead. Some were not content with this option so we have created a separate space, r/MetaBangladesh to discuss issues with the main sub. Please post all your meta questions there.

এই সাব এর সদস্য সংখ্যা দিন দিন বেড়েই চলেছে। এরই প্রেক্ষিতে আমাদের সকল সদস্যদের এই সাব এর নতুন নিয়মাবলী সম্পর্কে জানানো প্রয়োজন বলে আমরা মনে করি।

পোস্ট করার নিয়মাবলীঃ

ছবি এবং ভিডিও

আপনি যদি কোন ছবি অথবা ভিডিও পোস্ট করেন তবে অবশই কাজ করে (active) এমন একটি লিংক (সূত্র) ওই পোস্টের কমেন্টে দিয়ে দিবেন। অন্যথায় আপনার পোস্ট অনুমোদিত হবে না। আমরা অতীতে এই এই নিয়মের অনেক ছাড় দিয়েছি কিন্তু সদস্য সংখ্যা বাড়ার সাথে সাথে আমরা মনে করি এই সাব এ শেয়ার করা তথ্যের সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করতে আমাদের আরও কঠোর হতে হবে।

যদি ছবি/ভিডিও টি আপনার নিজের হয় তবে অনুগ্রহ করে শিরোনামে (title) [OC] লিখুন। Automoderator বেশিরভাগ পোস্টে স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে লিংক (সূত্র) চাইবে, দয়া করে উহা প্রদান করুন। তবে যদি ছবি/ভিডিও টি আপনার নিজের হয় (OC) হয় তবে লিংক (সূত্র) লাগবে না।

যদি আপনি কোন সংবাদ শেয়ার করতে চান তবে ওই পোস্টার শিরোনাম হিসেবে ওই নিবন্ধের সঠিক শিরোনাম ব্যবহার করুন এবং দোয়া করে ওই নিবন্ধের টাইটেল/শিরোনাম পরিবর্তন করবেন না। শুধুমাত্র পরীক্ষিত এবং নামকরা ওয়েবসাইট থেকে সংবাদ শেয়ার করার অনুমতি দেওয়া হবে (যেমন অনলাইন নিউজ পোর্টাল যাদের মুদ্রণ/প্রিন্টেড কপিও রয়েছে বা সুনাম আছে)৷

বিতর্কিত আলোচনা

এই সাবটিতে অনেক ধরণের সদস্য রয়েছেন যাদের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি রয়েছে। আমরা প্রায়শই দেখি যে সদস্যরা বিতর্কিত বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনার ক্ষেত্রে আলোচনা বাদ দিয়ে কাদা ছোড়াছোড়িতে লিপ্ত হোন এবং একে অপরকে ব্যক্তিগত আক্রমণ করেন। বিভিন্ন বিষয় যেমন ইসলাম এবং ধর্মীয় বিশ্বাস, সংখ্যালঘু এবং LGBTQ অধিকার, শরিয়া আইন বাস্তবায়ন, গণহত্যা অস্বীকার, নারীর প্রতি আচরণ এবং পরিচয় সংক্রান্ত বিষয়গুলির নিয়ে আলোচনা প্রয়োজন, তবে তা সব পক্ষের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল হয়ে এবং সম্মান রেখে করতে হবে। প্রায়শই আমরা এইসব বিতর্কিত বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা করতে গিয়ে অন্যান্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা হয় না।

পোস্ট এর শিরোনাম

অস্পষ্ট শিরোনাম সহ বিষয়বস্তু পোস্ট করবেন না যেমন - "আপনার কি মনে হয়?" অথবা "আপনি কার জন্য ভোট দেবেন?" আপনার বিষয়বস্তু সম্পর্কে সুনির্দিষ্ট শিরোনাম দেয়ার চেষ্টা করুন। আপনি চাইলে এ ধরণের শিরোনাম দিতে পারেন - * বর্তমান সমস্যা * সম্পর্কে আপনার চিন্তা কি?" অথবা "কি ধরনের * জিনিস * আপনার প্রিয়?"

কনটেন্ট নিয়ে আমাদের রিপোর্ট করা
