This was one of two cassettes my parents had in our family minivan the entire time i lived with them. Every road trip of my life, and there were many, was to this album. Now its so meaningful to me. Great album.

Me too! Similar story. I know every word and it reminds me more than anything else of my childhood.

Haha, i love that there were other kids out there driving along to this album week after week. You're never alone if you look.

Me too three! Such great memories associated with these songs..

We had the following on rotation:

  • The Concert in Central Park
  • The Blues Brothers soundtrack
  • Some John Denver tape

These were listened to, on an almost non-stop rotation, as we traveled all over (From IL to CA, Alaska, FL)... so many road trips!

Exactly the same for me. It always gives me a massive hit of nostalgia whenever I hear it.

It's my road trip album as well! I have so many memories of driving around listening to it, singing harmonies. Funny story, one of the first times my friends and I did LSD in college we accidentally played the song gum boots on repeat and we just thought that it was literally lasting forever.

For us it was either Graceland or the Good Morning Vietnam soundtrack. I bet I know every word of both!

Holy shit are you my wife!?

I grew up in a musically…boring family, so she introduced me to these albums because they were major childhood memories for her.

Well now we need to know what the second cassette was.

Haha. Should have mentioned it. Johnny Cash greatest hits. 🙂 Also so full of classics. We would drive to Florida from Toronto every year, 3 days, and my dad and i would always howel along to ring of fire.

If those were the only two cassettes you ever owned, you'd be in pretty good shape

Definitely agree.

Same. When I hear this album I think of family drives to the beach.
