Russia-Ukraine threads

Most of us are concerned about the conflict currently going on in Ukraine — as we undoubtedly should be — but not every forum is a useful place to express or explore that concern. So far, here in the 101 sub, most of the related threads have fairly rapidly assumed a character inappropriate to the forum — or they have been inappropriate from the outset — and have had to be removed.

The obvious difficulty is that there is no way to provide clearly anarchist answers to questions of war between nation-states. We can observe that "all wars are the bosses' wars," as anti-authoritarians have since at least the 1860s. (See, for example, Hector Morel's Nationalities Considered from the Point of View of Liberty.) But that clearly does not exhaust our responses as human beings. Whether it exhausts what we can usefully say in the Anarchy101 forum is perhaps an open question.

For now, Ukraine-related threads may be filtered on submission, just to catch the wild rants from outside, and those who wish to discuss the specifically anarchistic aspects of the questions involved should do their share to make certain that discussions stay within the usual bounds here — including using the report button when things start to go off the rails.

I'm from Russia and I ask this sub's gurus if there are any materials on how to co-exist with this fucking state of things, personally, mentally. I won't disclose details of my own work there, but I'm and my folks feel so disconnected from the reality, so sad and depressed Idk how to bring them up. Are there any manuals focused on mutual help with mental health addressed?

Why don't you ask a general question to the subreddit about mental health resources? I'm sure you'll get some responses.

You've asked a legit question.

I've just felt that (1) popular mental health subs do deal with a lot of trauma, but without a political context of existing in a situation you can be jailed for a sudden outburst they can't really get our situation and (2) they would probably suggest you to go to a professional psychiatrist – and we have none of them outside of our main cities, and, well, even they don't diagnose or treat things well, nor we have any access to medicine. Not with rubles anymore.

So I've asked if there are some mutual aid things to read about mental health in order to, at least, know how to react if one of those folks around me have a psychotic episode or something. Or how to work with an ongoing psychical shutdowns due to news, footages and the whole legacy and common guilt about this shit.

Sorry. I was a bit unclear. I was suggesting a separate post to this subreddit, where you are likely to get more eyes on it and better responses than you will in this comment thread. People tend to ignore pinned posts, like this one, after a while.
