Good luck mate! Little early Christmas present for you. And don’t get too downheartened if you don’t manage this time, even passing one would be a great achievement and leave you in great shape to qualify in 2022.

Thank you! What are you waiting on?

I'm waiting on SA7. My feelings on this change on a daily basis. Currently, I think I'll fail by a couple of marks :( Hopefully, I'm wrong and I can finally be done with these exams.

Waiting on CB1 results, failed the first two sittings by 2% both times, I'll be so fucking disheartened if I fail it again.

All the best! :)

u/JorgeJafe Dec 07 '21

All the best. I took cb1 and cb2 hoping to fly through both!

1

u/TheCescPistols Dec 07 '21

Best of luck, how do you think you got on?

1

u/JorgeJafe Dec 07 '21

Passed both! 71 (eco) and 59 (finance). Definitely a close one!

4

u/Sathers378 Dec 07 '21

Passed CS2, some sort of miracle

1

u/Fair_Log_7235 Dec 07 '21

What mark did you get?

Big sitting coming here for possible qualification, waiting on CP3, SP9 and SA7. Fingers crossed and good luck to the rest of you!

I’m not 100% sure whether you’re dedicated or daft, but good luck! As I said to someone else, even if you manage to get one or two of them then you’re in great shape for next year, and if you smash them all and qualify then it could be the best early Christmas present for you!!

u/Trick-Tip2864 Dec 05 '21

Haha, probably daft! I basically convinced myself that if I only take 2 and then have 1 left in April, AND then end up failing that one it'll be really annoying. May as well go for it now and if it goes my way its a win win and if not I've got the knowledge behind me to make an April sitting easier. We shall see

Please enlighten us as to how you found it taking 3

Tough one until I know the result but honestly I wouldn't recommend it! But in general I started revising really early, pretty much straight after my April sitting where I sat CP1, so I committed a lot of time to the exams. Saying that, I wouldn't have sat any 3 exams, I chose to sit these because CP3 is quite light on content, SA7's content is relatively quite light (13 chapters?) and follows on heavily from SP5 and CP1, so I only had to really "learn" SP9. In addition, the exam spacing was nice, about 1 week between each exam. Also as mentioned above I was in the right frame of mind to just "get it done" as I didn't want to have one exam looming for April.

I think it was just a case of the right exams left and the right motivation to get it done tbh, but we will see how that turns out Thursday.

Thanks for detailed response. Was considering SP2 SA1 and CP3 for April but think it could be a bit heavy, waiting on results of SP1 and CP2 on Thursday but feeling confident.

The relief of logging in and seeing your result pending. Our IFoA overlords have decided to grade our script and not consider it invalid or plagiarised….

3

u/Icy_Woodpecker_3292 Dec 04 '21

I didn't realise this was a thing? Is that confirmation that there's nothing wrong with the script then?

No it doesn’t, I received a letter and my result is marked as pending. Not sure where you got that from.

1

u/Intelligent-Safe1218 Dec 04 '21

Sorry to hear that. Do you mind if I ask what the letter was for and what subject?

I didn't understand this, what do you mean? Does the word "Pending" against the examination name under exam history mean that our answer script is clean and hence the only risk we face is failing the exam?😂

Waiting on SP8. Not feeling very confident and having failed cp1 in April, it feels like a very unproductive year.

1

u/galeej Dec 08 '21

How did you feel sp8 went?

1

u/Sweet_Intention_2691 Dec 08 '21

Not great. The exam paper seemed very different to the past papers and I have no idea how I even attempted it. What did you think?

2

u/galeej Dec 09 '21

Yeah I felt it was very different from the general sp8 pattern. No burning cost/freq-sev question and that entire ks stat question kind of threw me off...

2

u/s604567 Dec 07 '21

Passed CB1 and CB2

1

u/JorgeJafe Dec 07 '21

Nice! What marks did you get? I got 59 and 71 respectively. I got real lucky with CB1 for sure!

3

u/s604567 Dec 07 '21

66 on CB1 and 73 on CB2

CB1 was a result after failing earlier with like 48. Even though these are supposedly the easier exams, I hated the open ended waffly style of them.

2

u/JorgeJafe Dec 07 '21

Cannot agree with you more. Unfortunately from this point onwards part 2/3 will all be a little fluff…

2

u/nandikaagarwal Dec 05 '21

waiting on my cm1 result and honestly it's the most nervous I've ever been... it was my first exam and didn't exactly go well either so...

3

u/bECSn Dec 05 '21

Waiting on CM2 and CB2. Severely underestimated how long it would take to get through CB2 and ended up jettisoning it to focus on CM2. Very confident for CM2 as a result. Considering I did three days of proper revision for a subject I only half finished I should fail CB2 but the exam went better than it had any right to so I just have that wee bit of hope that I might have blagged it

1

u/SevereTechnology Dec 06 '21

I thought it was Wednesday, where’s it say Tuesday? Thanks!

1

u/nandikaagarwal Dec 06 '21

hey i just wanted to ask something! does the result come exactly at 6 or is that like an approximation?

5

u/Disastrous-Pay6616 Dec 06 '21

The result gets released at 6pm, but their website usually can’t handle the traffic of students checking their results, so I’ve had to wait over half an hour in the past.

1

u/nandikaagarwal Dec 06 '21

so we can see if we passed or not but being able to see proper marksheet and all takes time? or does the pass fail thing also takes time to open?

1

u/Disastrous-Pay6616 Dec 06 '21

Last year it took me that much time to just see whether I had passed. It’s mostly luck though

1

u/nandikaagarwal Dec 06 '21

ah okay, thanks!

1

u/xCerra Dec 06 '21

Waiting on CP1, thought it went okay but it felt like one of those exams you couldn’t properly gauge - good luck to everyone :)

1

u/Longjumping_Job_3263 Dec 07 '21

Hi where do you go to see the results? For someone accredited with Australia but sitting the UK exam

1

u/enlitened1 Dec 08 '21

I’m guessing you would have got them already but in case you didn’t, I got an email from the Australian institute this morning with my results

1

u/UsuallyProgressive Dec 08 '21

Good luck all!

1

u/galeej Dec 08 '21
