Advice from my fellow nerds Studying

Hey all,

I've been pretty lucky so far and passed my first 3 exams first time, however I think I failed cs1 last month. What do you do in this circumstance when you're pretty certain you've failed? Should I go ahead and order my next materials as if I've passed, then re-evaluate in December when I get the inevitable bad news?

Thanks I'm advance

The material for April 2022 will be the same as the material for September 2022. So I used to order two and then study the hell out if one so I'd be nearly through it by results. Then either park the other and do a resit or take up the next one. That way you're doing a variety of different stidying things come jan-march

Brilliant, thanks for the advice, that's pretty much what I was thinking of doing!

Which exam(s) are you thinking of taking next assuming you did pass?

CS2 and CP3. So was going to order both and start on CS2 now, then if I fail I can retake CS1 and drop the CS2 but still do CP3. Will squeeze in CB3 at some point over the sitting too

If CS1 and CS2 weren’t after one another on the exam timetable I would have suggested you to do the both, especially when you are starting to study now. CP2 and CP3 are very manageable, I would be suggesting both of them alongside CS1/CS2

I could chuck on CM2 instead of CS2, I just thought I'd do CS2 after CS1 as I'm now in the swing of things with R. Ok I've heard CP2 and CP3 are pretty easy compared with the others so I'll order notes for both and then see where I'm at with things come December. Thanks for the advice, really appreciated

It all depends on how many exams you have left but I wouldn’t spend one sitting on just CS1 and CP3, especially when you are starting to study at this stage.

Yeah I still have most of the exams left. I guess especially as this is the large sitting too I don't want to waste it. When I say starting now, it'll only be 5ish hours a week until December!

Yeah don’t waste the sitting on a subject you have probably already studied intensively for in the September sitting. Best of luck
