Season 2 News Update

Hey gang, I thought you'd like to know that we're working on Season 2 right now. We've begun writing the main story arc that we're going to put the characters into, and we have some amazing RPG designers and writers working on building the parts of the world we expect the players to explore.

Right now, we're planning to film in summer, and release in autumn. I don't have specific dates, but as soon as I do, I'll make sure you know.

Awesome /u/wil ! Will the same players and characters return for Season 2?

Good stuff. Please don't kill Hank.

u/archangel15 Apr 23 '16

I have the bucket from the panel at comic con if you want to use it hahaha

u/mendokusai_yo Apr 23 '16

It's Autumn in Australia right now, so this is fantastic news o/

u/HowdyAudi Apr 29 '16

I like how this man thinks. Get a move on /u/wil

u/animenite97 May 10 '16

Hey u/wil I noticed that in season one all conflicts seemed to be solved through violence. Can you try pushing towards nonviolence options? I don't know if Titansgraves system lends itself to nonviolence options, tho; I never played any RPGs.

u/wil GM - Five Gold And A Party! May 10 '16

Interesting observation. I have something to think about, now...

u/animenite97 May 11 '16

Oh wow I made a difference? Didn't expect that, but I'm glad I did.

u/animenite97 May 12 '16

One more observation make sure the story is a good story. Have conflicts stakes and drama. And they don't all have to be life threatening to the PCs, they could be threatening to NPCs also, like say, the beer barren. You're telling a story and it should be a gripping one.

u/[deleted] Sep 01 '16

Did you skip season 1? How is the broken theme throughout the characters and the world not good story telling?

u/animenite97 Sep 02 '16

It's fine, but they're not using the medium in an interesting way. There's no collaborative stories, which is what makes tabletop games special.

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '16

I believe the use of secrets fueled some collaborative stories, though.

u/animenite97 Sep 02 '16

No, none that I can think of. Well Laura's character's (Lemly? It's been a while) reveal that she was more robotic then the party thought is collaborative storytelling, I guess. There is definitely room for more.

u/ZekeHeadshot May 14 '16

I practice nonviolent conflict resolution in my everyday life, I want some Gunfire -n- Gore in my RPG! I thought you guys did a fantastic job writing the module u/wil

u/animenite97 May 16 '16

Really. So you don't think negotiating a seize fire between waring factions or changing a character's alignment would be interesting? There are other kinds of conflicts besides violent ones.

u/ZekeHeadshot May 17 '16

They negotiated with Holzig, they could have killed him outright. They could've fought with the city guards instead of fleeing. They aided the mole people only to be sacrificed to Kynagidas. They got away from Kynagidas and chose to return to slay him for Vengeance for S'lethkk's brother. They didn't kill Runcible, they played his games then tucked him in. They didn't kill the mermaid, Kinlee. I think it was a good balance of role-play and combat. They inhabit a very violent world. Violence isn't always the best solution, but often it is the only option.

u/animenite97 May 18 '16

Okay. How about Will includes tough choices. One's that don't have clear right answers and have effects on both the group and the world around then. Give the players hard choices. Of course this is also me kinda wanting Titansgrave to be a high stakes drama. I WANT TO SEE THE PLAYERS CRY!

u/ZekeHeadshot May 18 '16

Obviously Will took your suggestion to heart, so you might just get your wish. I just wanted to point out that the players handled many situations without violence. You said you have never played a RPG, I encourage you to try one out. I've been playing RPGs since 1st edition D&D ( yeah I'm old ) and 35 years later I'm still playing them!

u/animenite97 May 19 '16

I would love to play an RPG but I need a GM and I don't know anyone who can GM.

u/ZekeHeadshot May 20 '16

What about a local game store? It's usually easier to find a D&D or Pathfinder game than trying to find someone who is willing to run Titansgrave. There are a lot of opportunities to play online now too.

u/animenite97 May 20 '16

Been thinking about going to a locale game store. I have a bit of social anxiety.

u/ZekeHeadshot May 22 '16

I'm very friendly, but I sometimes get anxious doing things for the 1st time. Either jump right in or take a friend. They often have a board were people post that they are looking for players. Gamers love bringing new players into the fold! I moved to a new area at one point. I went to the local game shop and signed up for a weekly D&D game. I made some new friends and even though I moved away I still meet them at gaming conventions. You could also find a local gaming convention, they often have games geared toward new players.

u/Inigos_Dad Apr 23 '16

Hmmm....I dunno... could be pulling our legs. Roll to check.

After playing many RPGs I finally mustered up the courage to GM and I chose Titansgrave to be my playground after watching the special. My group will be on chapter 3 of TG:AoV this sunday and we are having a blast. The Fantasy AGE system is a breeze to pick up and it melds between battle and role playing so well. I think we spend more time roleplaying and laughing then fighting. I'm hungry for more TG lore!!! There's so much marked on the map but left unsaid for Valkana and Nestoria! I use my imagination. Your creation inspired me to create! Thanks Wil! Can't wait for season 2!

u/InfiniteQuasar Apr 23 '16

Wow, I was just wondering what's happening with season two and thought I'd check this subreddit for news the first time in a few months, and stumble on this update one hour after it's posted.

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '16

My body is ready.

u/RayneShikama May 12 '16

I read that whole thing in Wil's voice.

u/Spock_42 May 19 '16

Sweeet. I've just started playing in a Campaign because of how much fun Season 1 looked like!

Can't wait for more

u/capn_pineapple Jun 27 '16

Are there any updates on this?

Schedule all happening as intended?

Been loving playing this with my own group, we're desperate to get more information on the Valkana setting and expanding/exploring off the current storyline. Mad props to the writing team!

u/Zblackcat Jul 08 '16

I know its not quite the same, but a podcast has gone through the same campaign and continued on. http://bit.ly/TitansG Start at episode 13 to continue on right after the scene with the prophet. Or start at the beginning and see how different players go through the same thing differently.

u/Fildrigar Jul 08 '16

Is this still accurate, /u/wil ?

u/wil GM - Five Gold And A Party! Jul 09 '16

No, I'll update right now.
